10 YEARS AGO, APRIL 23,1975 Members so the Milford emergency unit will hold open house at their newly remodeled building on the town’s Main street between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26. All are invited to attend. Sunday afternoon callers in the home of Mrs. Ernest Wakely, niece of the late Michael Reuter, were Gladys Miller, Martha Ruch, and Marie Pena. Harold Kaiser, Milford fire chief and rural milk pick-up agent, completed his 35th year on Sunday in the latter capacity, and as such would rate as one of Milford’s oldest businessmen in line of continuing service in one occupation. Billy Haab took his ‘‘pop”, “Hop”, out to dinner for his birthday last Sunday. Also along for the party was his mother, Joan. Where do you suppose any red blooded American boy would take a parent? To a famous “hamburger joint,” of course.. 20 YEARS AGO, APRIL 21,1965 A number of farmers in the Milford area turned “good neighbor” last Thursday and Friday and went to the aid of farmers in the tornado-stricken area of Elkhart County. The men and young folk, organized under county agent Don Frartz met at Miller’s restaurant on road 15 north of Goshen and went to individual farms to help clear debris and ready fields for spring work. Milford Lions played host to their sons at -the Monday night meeting at the Masonic hall dining room, then saw some old phots of the town of Milford in the main Masonic hall. Mrs. K.D. Jessop and children are home at Milford after a week’s visit at Hayti, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Perry returned to their home on Henry street in Milford Thursday noon following several months’ stay in the southeast.
