Fla., passed away Wednesday, April 10, after a long illness. He was born on January 31, 1918, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ryman, former Syracuse residents. j He is survived by his wife Louise (Byland) Ryman; four sons; and one daughter. He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth. Dan E. Watson Kiwanis Charter Member Dan E. Watson, 73, r 1 North Webster, died in his home Friday, April 12, at 12:15 p.m. following an extended illness. He was born on July 1,1911, in Tipton County to John and Maude F. (Thompson) Watson. He married Marianne E. Wolfe on August 6,1938. She survives. Watson was a salesman and moved to the North Webster area from Indianapolis in 1953. He was a veteran of the Coast Guard where he served during World War 11, a charter member of the Lakeland Kiwanis and a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, other survivors include two daughters, Judith Bause, North Webster, and Mrs. Richard (Melinda) Roose, Milford; six grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 15, in Harris Funeral Home, SR 13S, Syracuse. Rev. O. Rex Lindemood, North Webster United Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in North Webster Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Bashor Home, Goshen. Brian M. Box 3 North Webster, to Goshen Hospital after he became ill on Friday, April 12. The EMS was called to a residence on Brooklyn Street at 10:35 p.m. Kim Slocum, 30, r 5 box 389A, Syracuse, was taken to Goshen Hospital following a boating accident on Dewart Lake Monday evening, April 16, at 6:59 p.m. Slocum suffered back pain and received lacerations and contusions. Edward Newcomer, Jr. Unißoyal Employee Funeral services were held Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. in Harris Funeral Home, Syracuse, for Edward R. Newcomer, Jr., 50, Leesburg, who passed away at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, in Kosciusko County Hospital. He had been ill with a heart condition. He was born in Goshen on September 20,1934, the son of Edward R. and Geneva (Lindzy) Newcomer and was formerly married to Julia May Coyle. In October 1984 he moved to Leesburg from Pierceton. He was an Army veteran and was employed at Unißoyal, Warsaw. Survivors include one son, Edward E., Leesburg; his parents, Leesburg; four sisters, Mrs. George (Larua) Coquillard and Mrs. Chuck (Patsy) Summerlot, both of Syracuse, Mrs. Bob (Betty) Cook, North Webster, and Mrs. Irvin (Connie) Busz, Leesburg; and three brothers, Lloyd, Angola, Donald and Terry, both.of Leesburg. A collision on SR 13, just south of Palm Drive in Syracuse on Thursday, April 11, at 10:08 a.m. sent both drivers to Goshen Hospital with minor injuries. Injured were Dave McKee, 31, P. O. Box 264 Middlebury, with lacerations to his face, forehead, nose and upper lip; and Richard DeMotte, 74, P O. Box 372, Cromwell, with a bump on the forehead and left leg. He complained of slight pain in the rib area and suffered two broken teeth. According to the Syracuse Police report, DeMotte was

southbound on SR 13 in a 1983 Oldsmobile and struck the rear of the 1977 Dodge driven by McKee. McKee, who was driving a vehicle registered to Sorg Dodge, P.O. Box 522, Goshen, had stopped to make a left turn onto the access road when the mishap occurred. DeMotte’s vehicle traveled off the roadway and came to stop on the west side of the road. McKee driven vehicle was shoved past the access road entrance and into the ditch. Both vehicles were listed as a total loss with approximately $4,000 damage to each.
