under the guidance of the PGA of America and the Junior Golf Foundation. Any boy or girl wanting to play golf, no matter where they live, will have the opportunity to do so in the program. The PGA of America has a plan that gives people a chance to realize full market value on their old set of golf clubs in trade — and a chance to be a benefactor to some local youngster participating in this new junior golf program. One of our local professionals will appraise your old set of clubs and certify its fair and true market value. This becomes your ticket to a full charitable donation, entirely acceptable to the IRS. The local pros will see to it that your old clubs are delivered to deserving youngsters with the will to learn, but no equipment. The local dropoff points for old clubs include the Lakeland Youth Center, North Webster Fire Department and the Milford Fire Department. Citizens can begin bringing in their old clubs at any time. The junior golf program is being organized by Dr. Kenneth Webster, Superintendent of Schools; Jill Stanley, Director of the Lakeland Youth Center; Rudy Cesco, Wawasee High School Golf Coach; and by area golf pros Jim Atwood, Bob Carlson and Dan O’Neal. The program is open to current 6th and 7th grade students in the

area. An orientation will be conducted at each school on Friday. May 3. Then on Saturday, May 11, a junior golf clinic will be held at the South Shore Country Club. In June the Youth Center will offer the junior golf program to these students two days per week. Details will be revealed later. Serving our country DANIEL R. TALMAGE Capt. Daniel R. The course is designed for college preparatory freshmen, sophomores and juniors. The focus will be on the verbal sections of the PSAT/SAT and the English usage section of the ACT exam. Under current law, in order to obtain the required motorcycle endorsement, motorcyclists must: 1. Obtain the motorcycle learner's permit from a local license branch. 2. Hold the learner’s permit for a minimum of 30 days. 3. Pass the required motorcycle skills test. 4. Return to the license branch to have the actual endorsement placed on the existing license. While holding the motorcycle learner’s permit, the motorcyclist is restricted in operation as follows: He may only operate the motorcycle during daylight hours, he must wear a helmet at

Since it was formed six years ago, the Music Boosters club has assisted in the purchasing of necessary equipment for the band (this year, a mixer board for the new sound system) and has helped raise money to send the Marching Warrior Band to national events, such as the Peach Bowl this year. The Boosters could not have accomplished what they have without the public’s interest and support. Anyone wishing to make a contribution in advance may call Sue Smith at 457-5646 or may phone the high school at 457-3147. Wawasee High School will supply a “tax deduction” letter upon request.
