LOUISA'S LETTER
Dear Louisa, I have been going with this man for two years and I love him very much. He is really a fine fellow but the only drawback is that he doesn't want to get married until he finishes college which will be a year from now. I told him that I would stop school — I am a junior — and get a job so that he could keep on until he finishes and then he will be a lieutenant for his stretch in the army but he wants us both to finish college before a wedding takes plac.e Don’t you think we would be happier if we would do as I said instead of waiting. E.O.—Colo. Answer: I agree with your young man as I think any young couple would have a much better chance of having a successful married life if they started out with the man working instead of going to school. There are exceptions to this rule but it is usually so when parents are able to help out financially and when no babies come to complicate things. It is my suggestion that you wait until your young man is out of college. You will have a better JUNE BRIDE — Mr. and Mrs. Terry Haab. r 5, Syracuse, announce the engagement of their daughter Deborah Lynn to Darren Scott Miller, son of Jon Miller, Warsaw, and Sarah Lee Jesse, Goshen. Her fiance graduated from North Wood High School in 1981 and is employed at Dewart Lake Marina. The couple is planning a June 15 wedding at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse. chance for a successful marriage. Louisa Answer to Left Out (N.C.): Your problem sounds real, and sad. I suggest you talk to your minister or priest and get him to speak to your husband. Can you, perhaps, talk to his parents? „ Perhaps your father, or a brother, might speak to him, with or without you. If you are not physically abused (and you can report that today and have ity stopped), do not hesitate to seek help from others. Your husband sounds as if he hasn’t yet realized your handicapped situation. Unless there’s something you haven’t told me, I suggest you seek support from friends, family and church. It’s very hard, bearing and raising children, to stay attractive and youthful and rested enough to be the girl your husband married. That is one of life’s oldest, hardest problems for females. Your problem is shared by millions in this stage of life, and requires mature understanding from loving husbands. Good Luck. > Louisa Address: Louisa, Box 532, Orangeburg, S.C. 29115 Tax bread A charming little recipe for a dessert called income-tax pudding: Take a good deal of dough, you’ll knead it. —The Opinion, Dublin. On farms Representatives from the nation’s agricultural heartland warned Congress recently that there is “a gathering rural storm” over the crisis in farm financing that threatens upheaval in America’s good production and banking systems.
