Doral McFarren Republican Precinct Committeeman Doral Ray McFarren, 60, Milford, died at 5:15 a.m. Christmas Eve in the Goshen Hospital of an apparent heart attack. The Milford native was born February 2, 1924, to P; D. and Carrie (Schaaf) McFarren. He was a Republican Precinct Committeeman for Van Buren Township, retired former owner of the Phillips 66 Station in Milford and a former Lakeland Community School Corporation bus driver. He 6 married Lee Campbell in Albion on October 16, 1949. She survives The deceased was a member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren; a 32nd degree Mason; a member of Kosciusko Lodge 418 F & AM, Milford; Kosciusko Chaper 160 Order of the Eastern Star, Milford; the Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne; the Milford Lions Club; and the Syracuse Coin Club. Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Mrs. James (Elaine* New ’Haven and Mrs. Robert (Kathy) Lechleidner of Milford; a daughter-in-law. Debbie (McFarren* Lovellette of Syracuse; a sister, Betty Whitman of Nappanee; two brothers, Seth of Milford and PauP of Pierceton; and seven grandchildren A son, Steven Ray, died in 1975. Friends may call at the Mishler Funeral Home in Milford from 7 to 9 p m on Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m. on Thursday. died on April 30,197.6. He was last employed at Jack’s Sunoco in Syracuse. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church at Syracuse and was a veteran of World War 11. Surviving are two daughters, Janet Ream of North Webster and Margaret Houser of Syracuse; two sons, Jack of North Webster and David of Syracuse; his mother;, and two grandchildren. ■ Friends may call at the Harris Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31. Mary Graber Nursing Home Resident Mary Graber, 83, formerly of r 1. Nappanee, died at 12:40 p.m.. in the Lakeland Loving Care Center, where she had lived for the past four years. She was born January 9, 1901, in Allen County, the daughter of Albert and Barbara * Delegrange * Steury. She married Simon S. Graber on April 13.1919. He preceded her in death on December 10. 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fairhaven AmishMennonite Church. Surviving are three sons. Victor of Nappanee. Marlyn of Middlebury and Joel of Goshen; five daughters. Mrs. Walter (Sarah) Huster of Elkhart/ Mrs Simon (Verna) Zook of Goshen. Mrs. Eli (Martha* Beachey of Franklin. Ky . Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Burkholder of Nappanee; and Mrs. Lloyd (Bgtty) Hochstetler of Nappanee; 38 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren Preceding her in death were a daughter, a brother, a sister and four grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a m. Monday in the Fairhaven Amish Mennonite Church at Goshen. Rev David A Bontrager and Rev Steven Yoder officiated at the ceremony Burial was in the Thomas Cemetery. at 10 a.m. Monday for Mrs. Ora (Cecia A.) Benson, 83,5315. Main St., Syracuse, who died at 6 a.m. Saturday in the Lakeland Loving Care Center, Milford. Born in Scott Township. Kosciusko County, on March 17, 1901, she married Ora H. Benson at Leesburg on April 23, 1920. He died on July 24,1974. She had lived in Syracuse for 43 years and was a homemaker. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Mary) Stiffler of Syracuse and Ilene Dyer of Texas; a son, Warren of Syracuse; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Stutzman of Nappanee. John McFarren officiating at the services Burial was in Syracuse Cemetery Estella Conrad Burr Oak Church Member Funeral services were held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Ulrey-Renner Funeral Home at Ligonier for Mrs. Virl (Estella) Conrad, 89, r 1 Ligonier. She died Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Lakeland Loving Care Center at Milford. The deceased was born June 9, 1895. in Tennessee. She married Virl Conrad on September 3,1916. He died in 1966 She lived in Ligonier for 80 years and was a member of the‘Burr Oak Church. Surviving are a son, Russell, Ligonier; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A brother and sister preceded her in death. <Rev. Lawrence Byrnes officiated at services. Burial was in Salem Cemetery, north of Ligonier. George Fox Maple Leaf Credit Manager Fox. 48. 65986 SR 15. Gosher£>was found Christmas Eve hanging by a rope in his garage. He was born July 30. 1936. in Goshen, to Delbert and Bernice (Hollar * Fox. On June 30.1979. he married Gloria Slisher. She survives. \ A 1954 graduate of Nappanee High School, he attended Manchester College. For 24 years he owned Fox’s Bicycle Shop in Nappanee. He also owned the Foxey Lady Greenhouse in Goshen and was credit manager at Maple
Leaf Farms, Milford. Fox was a member of the Goshen Moose Lodge, Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, Bristol and was involved in the JA program. He moved from Nappanee to Connecticut in 1956, to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1966 and returned to this area in 1978. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Susan) Chendweth of Tustin, Calif., Kathleen Fox of Arcadia, Calif., and Patty Ann Fox of Fullerton, Calif.; four stepsons, Gordon Slisher of Lagro, Douglas Slisher of Charlotte, Mich., Keith Slisher of Denton, Texas; and Brian Slisher of Fullerton, Calif.; one sister, Susan Wortinger of Nappanee; two stepgrandsons; two neices; and one nephew Friends may call at the Thompson-Yoder Funeral Home at Nappanee from 1 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. John L. Hart Retired Fanner John L. Hart, 67, r 1 Ligonier, father of Gloria Eyer, Syracuse, died Friday, Dec. 21, at 2:45 am., in Goshen Hospital. He was born on January 20, . 1917, in Kosciusko County to David and Mary (Mabie) Hart. On January 27, 1937, he married Edna Wolfe in Goshen. Hart lived in the Ligonier area for 38 years, moving there from Gary. He was a retired farmer and was employed by Home Crest. Goshen, until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Richville United Methodist Church, Ligonier Eagles Lodge and Millersburg American Legion Post. In addition to his wife and daughter, other survivors include one son, Jack Hart-, Ohio; one other daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Line, Goshen; six grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and one brother, Lloyd Hart, Ligonier. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 24, in Funeral Home, Ligonier. Rev.® Omer Nisley of Richville United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier. Ellsworth L. Pauls Brother Off Syracuse Resident Memorial services were held Saturday, Dec. 22, at the New Paris Church of the Brethren, for Ellsworth Lincoln Pauls, 79,1240 25th St., Santa Monica, Calif., brother of Theodore Pauls, Syracuse. He passed away at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, in Santa Monica, Calif., after an illness of 12 years. He was born March 25, 1905, in the Indian territory in Oklahoma. His parents were Elmer and Cathern (DeLoe) Pauls. On May 5,1945, he married Mabel Ludwig in Chicago where they lived until moving -to California 31 years ago. Pauls was an Army veteran of World War II and was employed by the Army Corps of Engineers. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Wilhilmena) Frazier, Nappanee; three grandchildren, Mrs. Kermit (Mary) Mishler, New Paris, Mrs. Arden (Victoria) Boyer, Nappanee, and Mrs. Joseph tJjjnehelen) Creedon, Olympia, Wash.; and seven great-grandchildren. . Rev. Arlin Claasson, pastor, officiated at the memorial. Thompson & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, was in charge of arrangements. Services and burial was in California.

Goshen Hospital to offer CPR classes in January
Goshen Hospital is offering a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) class on Monday, Jan. 14 and Wednesday. Jan. 16 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the hospital’s Education Department. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is ah emergency measure which almost everyone can learn in a short time. CPR may keep the heart attack patient alive until more advanced life support is available. With the knowledge of proper CPR techniques, a person may be able to save a life. Anyone interested in CPR can enroll by calling the Education Department at Goshen Hospital. Pre-registration is required as class size is limited. There is a class fee which includes book and materials.
