BRENDA BOOK INJURED AT BROCK Brenda Book, Warsaw, sustained a bruise on her leg while working at Brock Manufacturing, Milford, in the press room. The injury occurred on Friday morning, Oct. 19. She was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital and released. Bessie L. Bushong Former Milford Resident • Mrs. Clinton (Bessie) Bushong, 92, former resident of Milford and Niles, Mich., died Thursday evening, Oct. 18 at the Americana Nursing Home, Elkhart. Born Jan. 17,1892, in Syracuse, she was married to James Brady in June, 1910. He is deceased. On July 3, 1930, she married Clinton E. Bushong who died in October 1965. Mrs. Bushong was a member of the Nazarene Church, Niles. Surviving are four daughters. Mrs. Ed (Winifred) Kraufer, Elkhart, Mrs. Philip (Florida) Leonard, Niles, Dorothy Hayes, Yuma, Calif., and Mrs. Dean (Doris) Harbour, Goshen; two sons, Robert W. Brady, Niles, and Paul Bushong, Wakarusa; 21 grandchildren; 47 greatgrandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Charlotte VanDusen, Niles. One son, David, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 22, at the First Church of the Nazarene, Elkhart. Burial was in the Syracuse Cemetery. Ruth L. Cox Elkhart County Native Services were held Monday. Oct. 22, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home for Mrs. Truman (Ruth) Cox, 66, 59069 Melrose Place, Elkhart. Rev James D. Jones, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. A memorial service was conducted by the members of the Goshen chapter of the Order of Eastern Star on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 5 p.m. A native of Elkhart County, Mrs. Cox was born March 24, 1918. and was married May 22, 1937, to Truman A. Cox. Sr. She was employed as a secretary with IMC, Inc., Elkhart, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; a daughter. Mrs. Joseph (Jean) Lampert, Mesa, Ariz.-, a son Truman A. Jr.. panee, died on Friday, Oct. 19, at the LuAnn Nursing Home in Nappanee. He had been a resident there for three years. Born Jan. 30,1895, in Kosciusko County, he married Anna E. Moore on Feb. 26, 1916, in Syracuse. He had been employed as a farmer and a carpenter. Anglin was a member of the Mt. Tabor Church of God where he was an elder for 47 years. He was a former director of the Kosciusko County REMC. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Olen and Lowell, both of Nappanee; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil, Nappanee, and one sister, Mrs. Alma Parks, Nappanee. Services were held Sunday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m at the Mount Tabor Church of God. Rev. Leland Culp officiated. Burial was in the Stoney Point Cemetery. Linda Kaye Miller Receptionist In Doctors' Office Services for Mrs. Linda Kaye Miller. 36, 1401 S. 12 Street, Goshen, were held Monday, Oct. 22. She died Friday morning in Goshen General Hospital after a lenghty illness. Death was due to cancer. Born Nov. 11, 1947, in Goshen, she was married on June 15,1968, to Lynn Miller. Mrs. Miller was a receptionist for Dr. Timothy Thut and Dr. Robert Wuthrich and an active member of the Goshen City Church of the Brethren Choir,She was also a church board member, Sunday School teacher, planner for the School of Religion and Life for the church district, and a member of the Women’s Fellowship and the Christian Education Task force. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Megan Elizabeth and a son Robert Paul, both at home; her parents, Robert and Marilyn Haney, Goshen; three brothers, Gary, Stephen, and David Haney, all of Goshen; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Gardener Sr., Milford. One son, Brett Christopher, preceded her in death. Services were held Monday, Oct. 22, at City Church of the Brethren with Rev. Phyllis Carter, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Pallbearers included Daniel Iwema, Larry Parcell, James Wray, Clarence J. Yoder, Ron Hoke, and James Sumpter. Memorials may be made to the Goshen City Church Christian Education Fund or to the Elkhart County Cancer Society.

Hurshul L. Bell Processing Engineer Hurshul L. Bell, 60, r 2 North Webster, died at 5:58 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, from an extended illness. He was bom on Aug. 9, 1924, in Coopersville, Ky., to Marsh and Canzada (Zada) Bell. On June 15, 1946, in Rochester, he married Alyce Latson. She survives. Bell was on sick leave from Whitley Products where he was a process engineer. He was a veteran of World War 11. Additional survivors include one daughter, Sandra Stidam, Reynoldsburg, Ohio; one son, Mark, North Webster; two grandchildren; one brother, Dester Bell, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Harris Funeral Home, SR 13S Syracuse. Rev. Chester Reed will officiate and burial will be in West Etna Cemetery, Etna. Memorials may be directed to the Kosciusko County Cancer Society. Harriet Leining > Retired Teacher Os Home Economics Harriet Leining, 96, Heritage Manor, Ligonier, died Friday, Oct. 19, at 10:10.a.m. in the nursing home. She is the mother of Mrs. V. Logan (Jane) Love, Syracuse. Born June 11, 1888, in Brattleboro, Vt. to Edward and Addie (Putnam) Barrows. On Aug. 6, 1913, she married Rev. Fred C. Leining, who preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Leining moved to Syracuse in 1975 to make her home with her daughter. In 1980 she moved to the Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was a former home economics teacher. She and her husband had both retired in Brattleboro in 1953. She was a member of the Unitarian Church. Survivors in addition to her daughter, Mrs. Love of Syracuse, include six grandchildren; and 10 grea t-grandchildren. Private memorial services were conducted Sunday, Oct. 21, in 5 p.m. in Harris Funeral Home, SR 13S, Syracuse. Rev. Phil Frew officiated. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery, Brattleboro, Vt., State Hospital Pharmacy Week, October 24-31 Pharmacists at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, are joining with other members of the Indiana Society of Hospital Pharmacists across the state in celebrating the 32nd year of the professional society. In recognition of the organization's service, Gov. Robert D Orr has proclaimed October 24-31 as Indiana Hospital Pharmacy Week At KCH, three full-time registered pharmacists, one fulltime clerk, three part-time clerks, and one part-time registered nurse are responsible for all medications given to patients, amounting to more than ‘200.000 prescriptions a year. The Indiana Society provides a forum for pharmacists serving Indiana citizens and encourages professional advancement, interchange of information and dissemination of continuing education to enhance the general well-being and welfare of patients.

Rummel received nine stitches in his head and suffered a whiplash-type injury in the accident on the Syracuse-Webster Road near CR 300E. His*** brother, Jason, a Marine stationed in Jacksonville, N.C., received 80 stitches in his arm. Pictured below is the vehicle driven by Ronald Turner, Cromwell. Turner reported to police that he had fallen asleep while driving on East Shore Drive, one-half mile north of Pickwick Road, Syracuse. No damage figures were released by police. Heart disease classes at Goshen
The prevention and management of heart disease will be featured in a series of classes October 29, 31, and November 2 at Day care director at seminar Positive Public Relations is a topic of growing concern for day care centers. Responding to this issue, several directors of nonprofit day care centers gathered at Oliver Lake recently for a professional development seminar on public relations. Lucy Weddington of Cherished Child Day Care Center. Goshen, and Marty Bender of Elkhart Community Day Care Center, Elkhart, lead discussions and provided input on such topics as: preparing slide shows, printed materials and public service announcements. Also attending were Carol Hurd , Director of Lakeland Community Day Care Center, Syracuse, Marian Hostetler of Walnut Hill Day Care Centers, Kathryn Aschliman, Goshen College Kindergarten, and Mary Kuntz of Saint James Day Care Center. Topics planned for each session include: Session I — Dottie Kauffmann, R.N., cardiac rehabilitation coordinator, will provide information on the heart and its function, the process of heart disease and healing of the heart after a heart attack. Risk factors, what you can do to alleviate them and warning signs of a heart attack will also be discussed. Specific types of heart disease or complications will be considered. \ Session II — Barb Fierce, dietitian, will discuss low salt, low cholesterol and low fat diets, which are followed by individuals following a heart attack or as a prevention for artery disease.
