Retired Teachers hear Rooker talk on USA bike trip The Kosciusko County Retired Teachers Association met Oct. 9 in the Shrine Building at Warsaw. A total of 105 people attended the buffet luncheon served at noon. Program chairman Arleen Mines introduced Richard Rooker, a Warsaw teacher, who presented an illustrated lecture on his travels. In 1983 he biked across the United States, fulfilling one of his lifelong dreams. He challenged the group to persist in accomplishing long time goals. The Retired Teachers Choir, under the direction of Mary Blickenstaff, sang several numbers. President Virginia Ditmer conducted the business meeting, calling on various committee chairmen to give reports. Lester Davis, of the legislative committee, informed the group of a plan to be put into action for writing letters to the legislators. The Christmas party will be held Dec. 11.
