Thomas Wilson Milford Resident Thomas (“Jerry”) Wilson, 36, 407 W. Catherine St., Milford died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack Sunday, Sept. 30, at his home. Bom Dec. 14, 1947, in Garret, Ind., his parents are Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Thelma) Coahran, of Warsaw. He was united in marriage to Vickie Lentz June 6,1969. He was the owner and operator of H&R Block of Ligonier and Warsaw. A graduate of Milford High School in 1966, he was also a member of the Milford Christian Church, on the board of directors of the Syracuse Youth Center.

He was bora southwest of Wakarusa on April 17, 1906, to Amos and Susie (Everest) Hartman. He married Estella Leatherman Feb. 2,1928. Mr. Hartmen was a farmer, an employee of Wilson’s Feed Mill Millersburg, and retired as a night watchman at the former Smoker Lumber Co. after 14 years. He was a member of Union Grove Brethren in Christ Church, where he served as a deacon for 25 years. Surviving are his wife; three

Stephen H. Locke North Webstar Resident Stephen Howard Locke, 36, r 2, Leesburg, died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at home. He had been ill with cancer. He was born Aug. 11, 1948, in Elwood, to Howard and Olive Locke, and moved to the area 30 years ago from Muncie. A 1966 graduate of Goshen High School, he attended Indiana University and Miami-Dade Junior College and served with the Peace Corps in Bogota, Colombia. On July 4, 1973, he married Mary Beth Roeger. Locke was a coach in the North Webster Little League, a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church and a past member of the board of directors of Lakeland Youth

Syracuse EMS Syracuse Emergency Medical Service was called to Sea Nymph Inc., plant two, at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, when Frederick Hann, 37, 313 Turkey Creek Lane, Syracuse, became ill. He was transported to Goshen Hospital. Lyle Oiler, 46, 15626 US 6 Syracuse, was taken to Goshen Hospital Friday morning after becoming ill at home. The EMS was called at 3:36 a.m. Gerald Herbison, 68, 706 Front St., Syracuse, was transported to Goshen Hospital Monday morning, Oct. 1, after becoming ill. The EMS was calld at 2:49 a.m. Harry Knox, 63, r 4 box 76 Syracuse, was transported to Goshen Hospital from the office of Dr. Jack Clark on Monday, Oct. 1, The EMS was called to the doctors office at 11:52 a.m. No CPR class The cardio-pulmonary resuscitory class scheduled to be held in the Milford Community Building on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 4 and 5, has been cancelled until further notice.

Surviving with his wife and parents, who are residents of Leesburg, are a daughter, Sarah, and a son, Jason, both at home; two sisters, Kathy Locke, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Pat (Barbara) Connolly, Wautoma, Wis.; a brother, John, Leesburg; and a grandmother, Mrs. Cynthia Davis, Elwood. Caroline E. Darling Lifetime Elkhart County Resident Caroline E. Darling, 53, 60438 Missouri Ave., Goshen, died Monday, Oct. 1, at 2:36 p.m., in Elkhart Hospital following an extended illness. She is the daughter-in-law of Evelyn Tuttle, Syracuse. Mrs. Darling was born in Bristol on January 3, 1931, to Albert and Minni (Kroll) Weatherton. On November 14, 1965, she married William E. Darling, who survives. She lived in Elkhart County most of her life and was a member of Riverside Bible Church, Elkhart. Additional survivors are two
MATCHES BLAMED FOR ROLLOVER — Lowell T. Johnson, 21, 424 E. Boston St., Syracuse, escaped serious injury when the truck he was driving left the roadway and rolled over at 9 this morn- * ■' l ing (Wednesday). Johnson was taken to a local doctor by Randy Niles. 118 Medusa St., Syracuse owner of the truck, after he complained of dizzyness and an aching head. Syracuse Police Chief Warren Swartz stated Johnson was traveling east on County Line Road, near Maxwelton Golf Course, when he reached up on the dash for matches. The matches fell to the floor and as Johnson retrieved the matches the truck went Off the road and out of control. The 1972 Ford truck, owned by Wawasee Septic Tank Service and Niles, traveled 126 feet along the edge of the road before rolling completely over and stopping 12 feet off the road. KCH employees honored Nineteen employees of Kosciusko Community Hospital have been honored for five or more years of service with the Warsaw-based hospital. At the annual KCH Employee Recognition Dinner, held September 25 at the Holiday Inn, service pins were given to employees who began their employment in the years 1978-79. Making the presentations were L. Milton Holmgrain, administrator, and Rev. Wayne Johnson, president of the KCH board of directors. Pohl, 72, Lakeland Loving Care, Milford, died at 10:05 a.m., Sunday Sept. 30, in Goshen Hospital. Born April 2,1912, in Joliet, 111., he moved to this area in 1975 from Park Forest, 111. Pohl married Virginia Williams on Nov. 27, 1939. She preceded him in death on May 3, 1977. He was a retired carpet salesman. Survivors include two

Brebner Insurance Agent Grace Jane (Benson) Brebner, 81, Twenty-nine Palms, Calif., died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, in her home. She was born June 1, 1903, in Milford to Dr. and Mrs. William (Alpha Banta) Benson. She was raised in Milford and married Scott R. Brebner who preceded her in death in 1982. Mrs. Brebner was an insurance agent and broker. Survivors include one daughter, Rev. Linda Brebner, Rochester, N.Y.; one stepson, Scott Brebner, Tustin, Calif.; two grandchildren. One sister, Helen (Benson) Gilbert preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 5, at 10 am. in Milford cemetery with Rev. Jay Morris officiating. Thompson-Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, was in charge of arrangements.
