Continental Singers to be at WNHS
The Continental Singers and Orchestra will perform a live concert of contemporary Christian music on Monday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. at the West Noble High .School. This year’s concert theme and newest album is “Come Love the Lord.” In addition to featuring medleys from that album, the program will also contain selections from “Oh Come All Ye Faithful” (the first Continental Christmas album) and “Dreamer” (1984 Dove Award Winner-Best Musical). This year’s program includes a variety of Christian songs and hymns for the whole family. - The 24 vocalists and 11-piece orchestra are completely selfcontained, including their own sound and lighting equipment. Since they were first organized in 1967, various editions of the “Continental Singers and Orchestra” have made over 8,000 live domestic appearances and over 2,400 foreign appearances before more than 4.5 million people. They perform their concerts nightly, seven days a week. Performers are selected for the yearly 75 day tours by auditions from thousands of high school and college-age young people. Audi-

Leesburg resident is recovering from injuries Robert Blue, 33, r 1 Leesburg, is recovering from injuries he received in a hit and run accident on 175 north of Knoxville, Tenn. Blue’s motorcycle was struck by a car which failed to stop after the accident which happened on September 19. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Blue, Jr., of Irish Lake, Blue underwent surgery on September 26, and although he remains paralyzed from the waist down, family members report he is “improving.” He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, and although the hospital unit prohibits flowers, Blue’s family says he would appreciate hearing from his friends in the area. Blue and his wife, Beverly, are the parents of three children.
