Attend Jackson concert
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Sledge and daughter, Crystal, attended the Aug. 25 Michael Jackson concert at the Silver Dome, Pontiac, Mich. According to Mrs. Sledge, “It was impressive with five elevator stages, and sound speakers 92 feet high. The laser lights were beautiful and gave an outerspace’ effect to the stage sets. There was none of the hard rock music or weird stuff.” It took over 200 people five days to set up the stage and 28 semi trucks to carry all the necessary equipment. It takes three days to dismantle the stage. The show lasted about two hours. ‘ There were 47,000 people there,” said Mrs. Sledge. “Everything was well ordered and calm. We thought it was interesting to know that before their performance the stage was scrubbed thoroughly clean. They did this because of the Jackson’s Seven Day Adventist religious
beliefs. We saw people from age two to 80 years old dressed like Michael Jackson.” She concluded, “At the end of the program Michael did the ‘Moonwalk’ and the crowd roared.” Hoosier Auxiliary has carry-in The Hoosier Auxiliary of Barbee Conservation Club met Sept. 5 at Barbee Conservation Club building. GRANDMOTHER SAYS, “Here are a few characteristics of a healthy family: 1. Every member has self-esteem. Each knows he is as important as the others, whether he is four or 40; 2. The family operates as a support group, each helping and supporting each other. They serve one another; 3. It is not a monarchy with a tyrant who has the last word in everything, but rather a cooperative; 4. Responsibility is shared by all; 5. Problems are not considered failures, everyone has problems; 6. Respect is not enforced, it is demonstrated and is accepted as away of life; 7. There is real communication, not just an exchange of words."
