Mothers of twins urged to join new Lakeland club
Lakeland Mothers of Twins Club, a new club in the area, offers special support and services to all mothers of twins and triplets, in the Lake Wawasee and Warsaw areas. An invitation is also being extended to all residents of Kosciusko, Marshall, Fulton and Whitley Counties to join. The group offers help in many ways, such as monthly meetings which are held in different locations around the Wawasee-Lake Wawasee area. At the meetings there are special speakers, arrangements for special functions and a growing twin and triplet library featuring books and pamphlets lent to members free of charge. An important part of the meetings is the helpful discussion with other mothers of twins and triplets about the problems and joys of raising multiples. organizations which gives information on local and national events, takes part in surveys and receiving twin related publications. A monthly newsletter from the local club is offered. It contains local and national information, dates and locations of special events, local equipment and clothing sales and pages of twin and triplet related reading material. An outreach program, to visit homes in different areas is being planned. A few of the area mothers will take information and help to homes, and meet with some of the mothers in the area, exchange ideas and discussion. Information from that area would be included in the newsletter and a local volunteer would be needed to send information, such as local births, clothing and equipment sales, to keep in contact with the mothers in that area.
The club would also like to help mothers with disabled or deceased twins get in contact with other mothers with similar problems for help and understanding. If you or someone you know has twins or triplets and who might be interested in receiving a newsletter, contact the Lakeland Mothers of Twins Club, Jean Bowser, r 1 598 North Webster, Ind. 46555.
