EARN DEGREES — Kathryn Dian and Carl Alan Bice, daughter and son of Donald and Monica Bice, Milford, recently received bachelor degrees this spring. Kathryn Dian graduated May 19 from St. Mary's College with a bachelor of science degree in nursing, and Carl Alan graduated May 20 from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor degree in business administration. Miss Bice took part in a nurses* pinning ceremony Friday, May 18, in the Church of the Loretto on the St. Mary’s campus. A reception attended by family and friends followed. She will take the Nurses* State Board in Indianapolis on July 10 and 11, and will be employed at St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, in the surgical department. Carl Bice was commissioned an officer in the US Navy in a ceremony at the ACC Saturday. May 19. The ceremony was presided over by the Navy’s highest ranking officer, Adm. James D. Watkins. Ens. Bice will be stationed in Newport, RI, while attending Surface Warfare Officers School and Military Justice and Legal affairs. In January he will be stationed in Norfolk, Va., attending Anti-Sub Warfare School, and in March he will receive his permanent assignment aboard Frigate USS Gallery FFG26, homeported in Mayport. Fla.

Revenue sharing use hearing set The Turkey Creek Township Trustee, Louis M. Kuilema and the advisory board members will be meeting on Friday, July 20, at 7:30 p.m. for a revenue sharing proposed use hearing. The meeting will be in the town hall on SR 13S.
