Heritage buys Da-Lite stock
Da-Lite Screen Company, Inc., announced Friday, June 30, that Heritage Communications, Inc., Des Moines, la., had purchased all of Da-Ute’s outstanding common stock in the organization. Da-Lite will keep its operations in Warsaw. Deborah M. Cooley, chairmen of the Da-Lite board of directors, was the principal owner of the company. Her late husband, Chester C. Cooley, built the screen company into the international name it is today. Founded in 1909, Da-Lite has become the largest producer of movie projector screens in the world. In addition, it is a major supplier to other markets across the world. In its 75 year history, Da-Lite has been responsible for several new inventions dealing with motion picture screens. Os the new inventions, the silver lenticular and glass-beaded screens have become famous. Also, the electrically-operated and rear projection screens have been introduced to various markets. Presently, Da-Lite operates two plants with 265 employees in the Warsaw plant. The other

Syracuse Fire Department was called at 7:06 p.m. Monday, July 2, when a gasoline tank fell off a semi truck aS it crossed the railroad tracks at the Kosciusko-Noble County Line. Mark Thorn contacted the fire department. The firemen stodd by until the 100 gallon gas tank was picked up. There was no fire and damage was estimated at S3OO to the tank.
