4-H demonstration and public speaking contest held

HOYT Extension Agent Youth and 4-H , Fourteen Kosciusko County 4-H members participated in the 4-H demonstration and public speaking contest held Friday, June 15, at the Justice Building in Warsaw. Participants could compete in junior or senior division in both contests. Participating in the junior demonstration and public speak439 calls answered at Webster North Webster Town Marshal Judy Coleman submitted the monthly police report to the North Webster Town Board at the regular monthly meeting Monday evening. The report is as follows: The department answered 167 calls and 272 information calls. There were 46 fire and emergency medical service calls received, with 26 courtesy services given. Officers issued 33 warning traffic tickets and made 17 traffic arrests. There were two parking tickets issued and seven traffic accidents investigated. Officers made three operating while intoxicated arrests, one criminal arrest, and five juvenile arrests. There was one theft report, valued at SIBO, and officers recovered four stolen property items, valued at $1,055. Civil and domestic disturbances totaled five and there were 13 disabled vehicles, eight lockouts, four doors found open and 17 escorts to the banks. Officers answered 12 alarms, one dog complaint and impounded one dog. There were 12 title checks made and 10 fire and first aid calls attended. North Webster Police Department assisted other police departments on three occasions and issued one handgun permit. The total miles driven with the police vehicles was 3,310 and 256 gallons of gasoline was used.

In the senior contest, the participants were: Aimee Anglin, honor group; Betty Smith, A group; Todd Roberts, honor group; Shirley Bolinger. B group; and Jerry Goshert, A group. All senior participants advanced to the Area contest held June 29 at LaVille Junior/Senior High School. Advancing to the area contest in the junior category were: Janet Lynch, Elizabeth Goshert, Katti Stroup, Lisa Kaiser and a team demonstration by Doug Kimes and Duane Kline.
