from Pike Lake on June 3. Ridenour indicated that several more state records could\have been broken if fishermen would have recognized that they had caught trophy-siz4d fish. Entry blanks and rules are printed in every fishing regulation booklet. The Fish of the Year program recognizes outstanding fish in each of the 41 divisions, ranging from chinook salmon to yellow perch. Top honors were awarded to 20 fishermen wh entered exceptional catches in 1983. » Mark Cunningham of Anderson was a recipient of the award as he caught a 30-inch, 15 pound, eight ounce carp from Kosciusko County’s Loon Lake. Take her along on fishing trip “A glint of light flashed in my eyes, then a streak of rainbow colors darted back and forth in the water challenging my wits; the fish was not the only one hooked. I’ve found an adventure that will have to be tried again and again.” Sound like and “old salt”? Not at all, just a fisherwoman confiding to her fishing partner as they head to shore. Men and women, husbands and wives are increasingly becoming companions in one of America’s most popular leisure-time activities — fishing. Perhaps it’s an adherence to the old adage/“the more you share, the greater the joy.” Starcraft Marine notes, manufacturers are acknowledging the market for women’s tackle as well as men’s, with smaller, lightweight gear. Proper equipment makes a big difference.
