WHEN YOUR luck goes bad, it really goes bad, according to Charles Long of Etna Green. Long, who farms in the Atwocd/Etna Green area, was in Milford late Monday afternoon to pick up parts at Sharp’s Hardware He said that he needed the parts to get two tractors that had broken down back in the field. Alfter loading his tractor parts at the Sharp warehouse on Emeline Street. Long was about to leave the warehouse when he drove his 1979 Chevrolet truck off the edge of a truck well. MEMBERS OF the Milford Park Board and Mr. and Mrs. Randy Veach are to be congratulated for the hard work that has been done at the Lakeside Park on Waubee Lake this spring. Scheduled for opening on Memorial Day, the park is already in great shape and many fishermen have been seen taking advantage of the facilities there.

Martin, 30, Warsaw, sustained abrasions to the head and was treated and released from Kosciusko Community Hospital, following a motorcycle accident Saturday, May 12, at 3 p.m. The mishap occurred on CR 650E five miles south of North Webster. According to police reports the Martin motorcycle went off the road. Damage was estimated up to SI,OOO. 5s
LIONS IN the area will be going to China in the next week as MJ Publisher Arch Baumgartner shows slides of the recent trip he and Mrs. Baumgartner and granddaughter Criss took to China to the Syracuse Lions Two injured as vehicle rolls over Ron Dickerhoof, 20, Fort Wayne and Cecil Pulus, 20, a passenger in the Dickerhoof vehicle, were injured in a mishap Sunday morning at 1:53 a.m. at the intersection of CR 650 N and Emergency Medical Service Lane 40, four miles west of North Webster. Dickerhoof suffered minor bleeding to the face and Pulus sustained minor bleeding to the head. Dickerhoof’s vehicle rolled over and struck a tree. Damage was estimated up to $5,000.

Milford’s Lana Beer is the class valedictorian. Lana is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Lois) Beer of r 1. She plans to- attend Purdue University and major in engineering. All four tires of vehicle flat Karen Page, r 3 box 619 ' Wawasee Heights, Syracuse, contacted police at 6:10 a.m. Friday, May 11, when she found all four tires flat on her vehicle. Syracuse Police Officer William Selvey investigated and found two tires on the driver’s side had been cut and the other two tires were not tampered with. Damage was estimated at $126.
The class salutatorian is Michelle Berkey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen (Arlene) Berkey of r 4 Syracuse. Michelle plans to attend Indiana University in Bloomington and major in business. WITH THE close of schools at the end of the month, churches are planning Vacation Bible Schools for the first of June. VBS .plans will be listed on the M-J church pages in the near future. THE FACT the officials of Conrail are promising crossing lights will be installed on or before August 15 is good news for most Milford area residents. Railroad officials have sent letters to both state senator John Augsburger and U. S. Congressman John Hiler on the lights. Ritter. Mrs. Ritter had other obligations and had to decline the honor. Mr. and Mrs. Heaton moved to the Milford area a few years ago from North Vernon and have been active members of the community since that time. The Heatons are the parents of Mrs. Tom (Fran) Spencer of r 1 Milford. They have one granddaughter, Beth Lentz of Dewart Lake; and two grandsons, Jason and Buddy Lentz.
