Credit bureau manager talks to Kiwanis club Roselene Long, manager of the Credit Bureau, Inc., Goshen, gave an informative talk to Wawasee Kiwanis Saturday morning, May 5. Mrs. Long explained what, why and where the credit bureau is. The Credit Bureau is a private organization which gathers, records, stores and dispenses information about credit. She emphasized a credit report is confidential, except in certain cases. When applying for credit in a store, the Credit Bureau is contacted for a record of paying habits. If someone is turned down for credit, they have the right to go to the Bureau and, for a small fee, see a copy of the report. Mrs. Long has been with the Credit Bureau since 1951. She has seen numerous changes over the years and counseling is a big part of her job these days, due to many more divorces and other living arrangements Members asked Mrs. Long numerous questions.
