Milford, entered the WYEZ Radio sponsored contest while at the Concord. Mall recently and was a lucky winner. She now has 20 gift certificates valued at SSO each to spend in any way she wants at Kroger's. PERSONS who attended the recent MAD banquet will be interested in knowing that the speaker of the evening, Tom Mullen, has since been appointed as dean of the Earlham School of Religion. 7 Mullen, who has a summer home at Dewart Lake, is much in demand as a speaker because he believes humor can be mixed with religion. He has even written several books along this line. One Richmond columnist, writing about Mullen, put it this way: “In away, his new position as dean may be a delicious irony, because he served for three years as dean students at Earlham College, and during that time he used to tell a story about deans. He claims (with a straight face) that a local organization called the college and asked to have the college president attend some Big Event, adding, ‘lf the president can not attend, we want someone from the faculty no lower than a dean.’ To which Tom always quipped, ‘On a college faculty, there is nothing lower than a dean.’ “Os course, there are deans and deans. In his new post, he will have the ultimate responsibility for building on the fine efforts of his predecessors in leading ESR to new heights. Surely, Tom has the best wishes for success from many persons in the community and even from readers of his books.*’ THE ANNUAL Milford Junior High School original Jonah fish fry will be held Saturday from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. It’s an all you can eat event and deserves the support of the community. THE DEADLINE is fast approaching for boys between the ages of 9 and 12 to apply for scholarships to the 1984 Ken Beardslee Youth Baseball Camp, July 8-13, at North Manchester. A total of five scholarships are being offered. The winners, according to Beardslee, will be chosen on the basis of an essay contest. Interested youths are asked to submit an original, handwritten essay of no more than 250 words on the subject, “Why I want to attend the 1984 Ken Beardslee Youth Baseball Camp.” Winners will be chosen by a three-member independent panel of judges. Beardslee, a resident of r 1 Milford, is a former player in,the New York Yankees’ farm system and scouting supervisor with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He conducts the camp at North Manchester
