Linda Hair Beautician Memorial services for Mrs. Dean R. (Linda Lou) Hair, 44, of Fort Wayne, were held Saturday in the Fort Wayne Gospel Temple. She died at Fort Wayne Health Care Center at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 24. , The daughter of Roger and Bessie (Snellenberber) McConnell, she was born in Leesburg Dec. 5,1939. She married Deanß. Hair in Fort Wayne Dec. 3, 1971. He survives. She had formerly worked as a beautician at the Doll House Beauty Shop in Warsaw. Additional survivors are: two sons, Kerry and Kean Kauffman, both of Fort Wayne; two stepsons, Roland Hair, Harrison, Mich., and Todd Hair. Marion; three stepdaughters, Valerie Woodmansee and Tracy Caudill, both of Marion, and Paula Huegenare. Carmel; five brothers, Larry McConnell. Wars aw,. *James McConnell. Leesburg, Glen McConnell. Sunday, April 29. Born in Lawrence County, Alabama, Aug. 9, 1911, she was the daughter of George and Ruth Elizabeth Wade. She was married to Theodore R. (“T.R.”) Brooks May 25, 1927. A member of the Milford Apostolic Church, she had been a resident of Milford since 1949. Surviving are: her husband; four sons, Ted, Robert, James, and Kenneth, all of Milford; one daughter, Mrs. Scott (Susan) Crist, Gettysburg, Ohio; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lee (Wilma) Turner, Alabama; and two brothers, Robert L. and Russell Wade, both of Alabama. One daughter preceded her in death. Rev ? Jesse Beer officiated at the service held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) in the Milford Apostolic Christian Church. BuriaJ was in the Milford cemetery. Mishler Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Judy Watkins Former CTS Factory Employee Judy K. Watkins, 39. r 2 Bryant, died late Saturday evening. April 29. in an auto accident which left her husband and two daughters hospitalized. The accident Occured in Toledo. Ohio. Born in Adams County May 22. 1944, she was the daughter of Leroy and Mildred (Stevens) Vore. She married John E. Watkins June 24. 1962.
The former CTS factory employee was a member of the Sugar Grove Nazarine Church and had served as church treasurer. Surviving are: her husband; two'daughters, Jean Ann and Julie K., both at home; three brothers, Jay E. Vore, Syracuse, Joe L. Vore, Burne, and Jerry D. Vore, New Haven; and one sister, Mrs. Carmon (Janet) Wenger, Syracuse. L Services for Mrs. Watkins will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the William and Spencer Funeral Home, Portland with Rev. Carl Greek officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery, Pennville. Calling hours will be from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Fla., died in Goshen Hospital at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, April 29. She had been ill for some time. Born Sept. 8, 1915, she was the daughter of Ernest E. and Alva O. (Smitha) Brown. On Nov. 20, 1937, she married Lewis C. Niewerth. He died in 1983. In 1953 the the Niewerths moved to the North Webster-Warsaw area, where Mrs. Nierwerth was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Indianapolis. Survivors include: one sister, Mrs. William (Lenora) Crawford, Greenwood; and one brother, E. E. Brown, Battle Creek. Mich. Several nieces and nephews also survive. One sister preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at 10 a m. Saturday, May 5, in the First Baptist Church, Oswego, with Rev. Roy Mickley officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Masonic cemetery, Indianapolis. There wilj be no visitation or viewing. Memorials may be directed to

Franklin Herdrich Retired Airline Captain Franklin M, Herdrich, 74, r 2 Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, died in Goshen Hospital at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 29. He had been suffering from an extended illness. Herdrich was a captain with American Airlines and had retired after 34 years of service. He joined the airline on March 16, 1936, and retired on April 17,1970. He soloed in a Travel Air at Hoosier Airport Jan. 2, 1929, and spent 15 years in the Reserve Air Corps, US Army. He was assigned as flying instructor at American’s military pilot training school during World War 11. Later he volunteered, and was assigned to Project 7A as a captain under the Air Transport Command ferrying equipment and supplies in C-47s over the Himalayas to Nationalist China.

Under the unifying theme “We’re the Caring Kind,” Kosciusko Community Hospital is joining hospitals throughout the nation in celebrating National Hospital Week 'B4, May 6-12. “The 1984 National Hospital Week theme pays tribute to the special kind of people we have at Kosciusko Community Hospital,” L. Milton Holmgrain, administrator, said. “Whether they are employees, members of the Auxiliary, physicians or trustees, they are all people who are the caring kind. They are people who care about one another and the community. It is their total committment to caring that we are recognizing.” KCH has planned several activities fti connection with the observance to recognize the work of employees and volunteers, and to encourage the public to visit the hospital. Informational and educational displays ..will be set up in the hospital’s lobby from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. Departments taking part in the displays and demonstrations include: Medical Records and the Business Office, explaining DRGs; the hospital’s Lifeline program for the elderly and the infirm; Central Supply; Nursing; Physical Therapy; CarNot to challenge The National Funeral Directors Association announced recently it had decided against taking to the Supreme Court its challenge of a federal regulation requiring that consumers be given more detailed information about funeral prices.
He flew as captain on C-54s on America’s military North Atlantic operation, following his assignment with Project 7A. In May-1946 he was one of America’s pilots who had the distinction of being assigned to American Overseas Airlines Foreign Trans-Oceanic Government contract operation. He returned to American’s commercial operation in 1947. Herdrich had an assignment with the Military Airlift operation to Vietnam. Born in Lebanon Born in Lebanon April 17,1910, he was the son of D C. and Jesse (Powell) Herdrich. He from high school in Indianapolis andattended Indiana University extension studying accounting. Herdrich moved to the Lake Wawasee area in 1953 from Chicago. He married the former Dorothy Rea in 1935. She survives. Additional survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Susan Meek, Syracuse: five grandchildren; two sisters, Berta Bartholomew.

On May 12, the hospital and the hospital’s Activity Club will be co-sponsoring the 2nd Annual 5K “Run For The Health of It.’’ The run will start at the hospital to Pike Lake and return, and will begin at 4 p.m. Also planned for May 12 is the one-mile “Mile Walk for Fitness” on the hospital grounds, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Trophies and ribbons will be awarded in both events and nylon tote bags will.be given to entrants. Advance registration forms are available from several area stores and the hospital. Entries will also be accepted immediately prior to the events. “We could not serve the community without the community’s support,” said Holmgrain, “and the dedicated effort of our employees. National Hospital Week ’B4 is a celebration of both our employees and the community. Only by working together can we truly be the caring kind.”

Mrs. Rule died in Kosciusko Community Hospital at 6:10 a.m. Monday, April 30, following an extended illness. Born in Milford July 8,1904, she was the daughter of Alexander and Rose (Cunmngham) Hollar. She married Floyd Rule March 21. 1923. He survives.

Syracuse , EMS Harold Kevric, 36, r 2 box 121 North Webster, was brought to the Syracuse Emergency Medical Service base at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 25. He was transported to Goshen Hospital for several lacerations after falling. | Louis Kull, 66, 2513 College Ave., Goshen, was brought to the fire station after injuring a finger on the left hand. He stopped at the station at 7 a.m. Thursday, April 26. Arrangements were made for Kull to see a doctor. Bernard Reed Brother Os Syracuse Woman Mrs. Floyd Reed, 137 West North Street, Syracuse, returned home Saturday, April 28, after having been called to Millbanks, S.D., due to the death of her brother, Bernard Reed, 56. Reed passed away on Easter Sunday, April 22, and the funeral was Thursday, April 26. Mrs. Reed stated he was her youngest brother and had died of a heart attack.

Richard Greene, 15,207 N. Huntington St., Syracuse, was transported to Goshen Hospital Monday afternoon £fter cutting two fingers on a ban saw at Wawasee High School. The ambulance was called at 1:04 p.m. to the guidance department. Opal Stoops, 75, 88 E. Shore Dr., Syracuse, was transported to Elkhart Hospital after becoming ill Monday afternoon. The ambulance was called at 4:40 p.m. Ann Harris, 43, 413 S. Main St., Syracuse, refused treatment at 4:54.p.m. Monday after receiving a laceration above her eye. The ambulance crew was called for treatment, and advised the patient that stitches were needed.
