Her matching lace hat was accented with a fingertip-length veil which cascaded from the back of the hat. Meals for older Americans
Meals for Older Americans are served each day at the following locations: The American Legion. SR 13 Syracuse; the Pierceton Community Building; Mentone Community Room in the fire station; and the Retired Tigers Center, 320 W. Main, Warsaw. Meals for Older Americans is for persons 60 years or older and is a chance to meet new friends and enjoy hot, nutritional meals. The sites are opened several hours each day including noon for programs. Meals for Older Americans is not associated with welfare but is for the promotion for better health for the older population. Donations are accepted for the meals. The site directors request all persons planning on attending the meals to make reservations by 1 p.m. the day prior to attending. Lynn Kaiser becomes bride of Phillip Garber April 14
Lvnn Kaiser and Phillip Garber were united in marriage April 14 in Rock Run Church of the Brethren. Rev. Gerald Mease performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kaiser, r 2 Milford. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. David Garber, 66495 CR 33, Goshen. Nuptual music was provided by Brian, Renee, Sheryl and Kevin Hueni, the bride’s cousins. Jo Ellen Sands served as organist. The bride wore a gown of traditional silk organza and Chantilly lace over taffeta. The gown featured a stand-up neckline and long sleeves. The front and back yokes were embroidered with seed pearls. The lace ruffled hemline extended into a chapellength train. Her old-fashioned hat had a blusher and a veil of nylon netting. Toni Leever, Syracuse, served as maid of honor, and Erin Stapp was bridesmaid. They wore gowns of dusty rose. Joe Stapp, Goshen, was best man and Glenn Leer, also of Goshen, was groomsman. Serving as ushers were the bride’s brother, John Kaiser, Milford, and Bill Stapp, Smithville, Tenn. The bride’s nephews, Kirk Kaiser, Milford, and Justin Bell, North Webster, were ring bearers. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church dining hall. Servers were Ann Bell. Easter carry-in for Turkey Creek senior citizens
The Turkey Creek Senior Citizens met Saturday, April 21, in the Syracuse Scout Cabin for an Easter carry-in dinner and program. Meat, beverages and bread were furnished by the club. Floyd Rummel gave the table blessing. The table decorations were in keeping with the Easter season and each place had a small Easter basket. Mabel Valentine and Marguerite ForLAFF to begin on Thursday LAFF begins April 26 at 8:30 a.m. at the Oakwood Center in Syracuse. Classes of interest to everyone will be offered. Persons 50 years of age and older are encouraged to attend. Anyone who is unable to attend Thursday’s session is welcome to attend the remainder of the sessions. Classes will be held on Thursday from April 26 thru May 24. The classes will be conducted each of the five mornings and a travelogue will be offered each afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Roose sang a number of appropriate songs for the Easter season, accompanied by Mrs. Roose, who also played the autoharp. The president opened the meeting following the program with the pledge to the flag by the members. The secretary read the minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer gave a report. At the May meeting the new queen, Marguerite Forrest will be crowned. On May 23 the county queen will be crowned at Warsaw. It was announced that the Nappanee meeting will be May 3 and at Milford, Following the close of the meeting table games were played. The next meeting will be May 19 and all senior citizens are invited to attend. There were 33 present with two guests, Mr. and Mrs. Martindale and Ben Tracy. Turkey Creek Senior Citizens is an agency of United Way.
