Your daughter's a WHAT?

By CHAR BUTLER Guest Feature Writer Recently, in ‘the PAPER'S’ classified, under Coming Events, Deea Vester published an ad: NEW CLASSES STARTING - Baton, pompon and flag corps. Join the “Lakettes" for this summer’s parades. 834-4233. If Deea is as good an instructor as she spells ... she’s great! How many times have you heard someone boast, “My daughter is a pompom girl!”? (Rather than pompon). Fortunately, Deea did her homework well and knows a pom'pom is a gun ... a pompon, an ornament, as a feather or flower. (Check your Webster’s). Fact is, among our armed service men. a “pompom girl” is someone you don’t take home to meet the family. Thank heaven for Deea Vester. If she hadn’t planned classes I’d forgotten to write about poms! Now, with this matter cleared up . . . something’s gotta be written about an overworked “got” .

William Male, dean of Grace Theological Seminary. "We are determined to continue strengthening our library and to provide the research materials so important to theological inquiry.”

The Barbee Lakes Property Owners’ Association Board of Directors held its first meeting of the year, March 17, at the Barbee Conservation Club. Approximately 20 directors were present to discuss the association’s plans for the coming season. The membership committee reported that membership in the association has reached 1,100 members and more are expected. It was also announced that the Barbee Lakes organization is now the largest lake association in Indiana. It was decided that due to the increasing popularity of the boating safety classes, the association will join with the Kosciusko County Lakes Council to direct the upcoming boating safety classes to be conducted by officer John Sullivan of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and John Weyler of the Barbee Lakes association. The classes will be held at various locations throughout Kosiusko County.
