Meals on Wheels program for Wawasee Kiwamans Jane Stewart, spoke about Meals on Wheels at the Wawasee Kiwanis meeting Saturday, Feb. 25. She emphasized that the meals weren’t just for the elderly, but also for the handicapped and those recuperating from surgery or a lengthy illness. The guest speaker commented on the fact the program doesn’t just provide meals but a daily check up Monday through Friday. This program is to start in the area on March 26 and any questions may be directed to Jane Stewart. She requested that service clubs help by delivering meals during the winter months or purchasing an electric oven used in heating the meals to 140 degrees. During the business meeting Don Denney announced Ladies Night on March 19 at Gropp’s, Syracuse; and a chicken barbecue in April, headed by Shad Hunter and Herschell Wells. February 18 Meeting Clair Mohler was elected as lieutenant governor of the district on Thursday, Feb. 16, at the district meeting in Warsaw. Local Kiwanis president Don Denney, reminded the group of the membership drive. Don Strauss, a potential member, was one of the guests. Presenting the program was Lee Weaver of Sun Arrow Space located at the Nappanee airport. The Sun Aero is in the experimental stage, however, it will soon be in production. Weaver stated it has been developed on the principal of the ultra light gliders. The plane will weigh 450 pounds empty and has a wingspan of 28 feet and a length of feet. The real advantage is that it only costs approximately $5 an hour to fly.

JULY WEDDING — Mr. and Mrs. Donald Neer, 71201 SR 15 New Paris, announce the engagement of their daughter, Angela, to Stuart Wilson, son of Rev. and Mrs. Larry Wilson, Nappanee. The bride-elect is a 1983 Fairfield High School and vocational beauty school graduate. She is employed at Ascot Enterprises. Wilson is a 1981 North Wood High School graduate and attended Cedarville College. He is employed at Family Fare. The couple is planning a July 28 wedding in Wawasee Heights Baptist Church, Syracuse.

Thirty employees of Brock Manufacturing Inc. were recently presented with Employee Service Awards. According to Paul Brembeck, President of Brock, the awards are given by Brock to employees in recognition of the length of service each has contributed to the company. Receiving recognition for 20 years of service to Brock were Kerry Boggs and Floyd Yoder, both of Milford; and Raymond Schori, Plymouth. James Poe, Warsaw; and Ruthann Kelley, Steve Yoder and Stan Hollar, all from Milford, received awards marking 10 years of service.
Warsaw man wins Indiana's Small Business Person award
The Indiana District of the US Small Business Administration announced the selection of Robert D. General, Warsaw, for the Indiana Small Business “Person of the Year” award. Miller’s nomination for the prestigous award was sponsored by the First National Bank, Warsaw. The Indiana selection is also a nominee for the national award, and will be honored with other state nominees in ceremonies scheduled for Small Business
