pecanoe Lake at 3:14 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27. The fire was at the old Ski Hut. Fire officials stated the building was a total loss, however, it was unoccupied at the time. High winds and a broken gas line, causing a gas leak, hampered the department’s aid. The investigation continues as to the cause since the building has not been used for a number of years. Owners of the building are John and Peggy (Wiley) Gansert, Etna Green. Archbishop named BOSTON - Pope John Paul II named Bernard Law, 52, a rural Missouri bishop who is orthodox in doctrine but an activist in relations between races and faiths, as new archbishop for Boston.
