Tippecanoe trustee gives assessing instructions
The time for personal property assessing is here once again. According to Richard D. Mitchell, Tippecanoe Township Trustee, “Individual Tangible Personal Property Assessment” Form 101’s will be mailed within the next few days. This form is to be used to report such items as snowmobiles, all terrain vehicles, pontoons, boats, outboard motors, travel trailers, pick-up truck toppers and trailers of all descriptions, owned or in a person’s possession on March 1,1984. For those residents of Tippecanoe Township needing assistance with their forms, the trustee’s office is located in the rear of the North Webster Fire Station. The office will be open Monday thru Friday, 8 a m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a m. to noon. All forms must be received by May 15 or penalties will be applied. The office can be reached by dialing 834-4402. All personal property is taxable in the county and township where it physically sits on March 1,1984, regardless of the place of your principal residence. Out of state residents are also liable for property tax within the state of Indiana If you store a boat in Tippecanoe Township, the taxes are due here, reminds Mitchell. Boat companies are required to provide the assessor with a list of all boats stored with them. Please report the boats in the same name as you store them at the marinas. EXPO 'B4 — The Kosciusko County Farm Bureau Co-op will hold Expo ’B4 on March 6 at the National Guard Armery in Warsaw. All utility and boat trailers are to be reported as they are checked against license plate registrations. You must report all trailers even if no license are purchased. If after reviewing the forms, there are no items to report, please write nothing to report on the face of the form, sign and return the form to the address listed on the bottom. Be sure to return the form even if there is nothing to report so a late assessment will not be made in your name on previously owned items. For those who have no change from last year, write “Same as last year” on the margin of the form, sign and return. Any changes should also be noted. Standard book values will be used to assess all personal property. If you have sold your personal property, you should advise the name and address of the new owner. If you repopKany items on Form 101 within Kosciusko County, you will receive a tax bill from the’Kosciusko Comity Treasurer in the spring of /1985. This is pavable in two installments due the Kosciusko County Treasurer on May 10 ancf November 10. Farmers and businessmen who need assistance may contact the trustee s office for an, appointment Monday through Friday. You must have your Federal Depreciation Schedule for the accurate figures needed for these forms. equipment list. All dogs owned or harbored must be tagged. The fee may be sent by mail, but should enclose a self addressed stamped envelope so the tag and receipt can be returned. Fees are as follows: Neutered males, and spayed females, $1; unspayed females and non-neutered males, $3; Second and each added dog, $5; minor kennel, 1-5 dogs, sls; major kennel over 15 dogs, $25. Any additions or construction within Kosciusko County must be reported to the Area Plan Commission located in the basement of the Kosciusko County Courthouse. Building permits are free and must be obtained. Anyone who sells or moves a mobile home is required by law to obtain a transfer from the Kosciusko County Treasurer’s Office. A fine of SIOO may be levied on any person moving a mobile home without a valid transfer in his possession. A title on a mobile home cannot be transferred at the license bureau without the transfer which is also a tax clearance. Reregistrations for boats must be stamped by the County Treasurer showing that the taxes are paid before being sent to the Department of Natural Resources. They will not accept a boat registration without this stamp. The rates for 1984 has increased and are as follows: class A boat under 16 feet, $10; class one 16 feet to less than 26 feet. sl2; class two boat. 26 feet to less than 40 feet. sls; class three boat 40 feet or more, S2O; dealer. $10; duplicate registration and duplicate decals, $1 each.

Milford, and Silver Lake. Donations sought for WHS auction The Wawasee High School Music Boosters is sponsoring its second annual auction at the high school on April 16. All donations except clothing will be greatly appreciated and all funds raised will benefit the concert choir and orchestra by helping them participate in a music festival in Nashville, Tenn, on the first weekend in May. Anyone wishing to donate items should contact Wawasee High School at 457-3147. Further information will be published as plans are finalized. OFFICE MANAGER - Betty Hall has been named office manager of Da-Lite Screen Com* pany, Inc., according to an announcement by George H. Lenke, president. As of January 2, she was elected secretary of the corporation. She succeeds Lily Love, who retired from Da-Lite on December 31, after 47 years of service. Mrs. Hall joined Da-Lite in April 1974. She has served in various capacities including billing, purchasing and accounting. A graduate of Warsaw High School, she was employed for several years at a. Warsaw office supply firm. She is married to Bob Hall who is associated with Brock Manufacturing of Milford. The couple who reside at Waubee Lake, Milford, have a daughter, Mrs. Don (Leigh Ann) Flenar of Milford, and a son Jeff Hall of Leesburg; two grandsons, Nicholas and Joshua. Betty enjoys reading, tennis and traveling. Fewer farmers Only 12 percent of the nation’s dairy farmers signed up for the federal program that will pay dairy farmers to reduce milk output, Deputy Agriculture Secretary Richard Lyng said recently.

Atwood, North Webster, was involved in a two-vehicle accident Thursday, Feb. 23, at 9:47 a.m. on West Center Street, Warsaw. The mishap occurred west of Buffalo Street. Also involved in the accident was Ted W. Prater 20, 104 Pope St., Warsaw. Damage was estimated at less than S2OO to both vehicles.
