a full line of retail sales, excellent servicing and boat storage. They have capacity to store over 200 boats. Thirty-three covered docking spaces and 10 open summer docks are available at the facility. Tippecanoe Boat Co. and its docking facilities are all located in a harbor away from the lake for safe moring. The company’s summer staff can exceed eight, however, during the off season the staff drops to three. Servicing is handled by certified Mercury mechanic, Ed Hartup. Cromwell isn't standing still

Far too often, small towns usually just stand still and watch the bigger cities grow. This hasn’t been the case in Cromwell, where citizens have seen the Noble County locality upgrade old buildings, while bringing in new businesses. Although Cromwell Manufacturing, which opened in 1973, continues as the oldest business, Carter Janitorial Service has entered the community as the newest addition. Cromwell Manufacturing employs 53 people and manufactures several molded rubber products. Union Products International, Inc., opened in February of 1983 and employs 66 people. They manufacture electrical wiring assemblies for office modular furniture. Carter Janitorial Service centers on industrial and home cleaning, the company is situated along the B & O Railroad in Cromwell and on 50 acres of land. Community Center Along with the addition of the new businesses, the town also has grown through the development of the community center. “We are really proud of the building, and all that we are doing there,” said

economic upswing will continue. He sees 1984 hopefully, “We’re getting busier year by year.” Infact, the company found it necessary to build a new boat storage facility late in 1983 to keep in step with business growth.

Linda Worker. “Hopefully we will be able to build a ‘causeway’ between the cafeteria and gym this year.” After remodeling the present gymnasium with a new floor, heating, and public address system, people are beginning to flock to the center for local entertainment. Community dances twice a month, free roller skating every Sunday afternoon from 2 - 4 p.m. and games every Friday evening highlight the card of attractions in Cromwell. In addition to the social aspect in the community, an emphasis on physical fitness is observed by a weekly karate class for men, and women’s aerobics. All of the above mentioned coincide with the winter months, but the town has also spruced up the park for the warmer months. A new lighting system at the baseball field has opened the eyes of many people. In addition, the park board also restriped the tennis courts and built a new concession stand and pavillion at the park. All in all, the town of Cromwell is not the typical old resting place as most towns around the country. Cromwell is a growing and exciting place to live.
