Obituaries
Robert Clevenger, 3 3-year state trooper, is dead
Robert J. Clevenger, 69, 319 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, died at 2:36 a m. this morning (Wednesday) in Goshen Hospital. He was taken to the hospital at 1:06 am. this morning by Syracuse Emergency Medical Service. He was bom on July 7, 1914, in North Manchester to Tyree and Bessie (Abbott) Clevenger. On August 27, 1948, he married Irene Todd Klink. She survives. Clevenger moved to Syracuse in 1948 from Ligonier. He lived in North Manchester prior to moving to Ligonier. In 1968 he retired from the Indiana State Police as a sergeant following 33 years of service. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church; Elks Lodge. Ligonier; and a Navy veteran of World War 11. Additional survivors include one son. Robert J.. Jr., Del Mar, Calif.; one stepdaughter. Mrs. Jay (Susie) Brouwer, Syracuse; three grandchildren; one

He died suddenly in Milford Junction at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3. Survivors include: a son;, two daughters, including Mrs. Kenton (Carla) Gaff, Warsaw; and seven grandchildren. Frank Corbin Former Grocery Store Owner-Operator Frank E. Corbin, 76, died at his home at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1. He had been ill for one year. Born Jan. 14, 1908, in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of Walter C. and Fannie (Stocker) Corbin. On Nov. 21, 1940, he was united in marriage to Pauline Miller, who survives. A member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, Syracuse, he had moved to North Webster in 1952 from Mishawaka and had owned and operated a grocery in North Webster for many years. He was an honorary lifetime
member of the Knights of Columbus. ried to Mary Bollinger May 7, 1932. She survives. Bunyan was part-owner of the Leesburg Lumber Co. from 1946 to 1971 and was a member of City Church of the Brethren. Additional survivors are: his mother, Vera, South Bend; a daughter, Jeannie Bunyan, South Bend; a sister, Ruth Nuhauser, Golden, Colo.; and a brother, Charles, Dayton, Ohio. A son, John, preceded him in death. His body has been donated to the IU Medical Center. Private family memorial services are being planned. The former SyracuseNorth Webster area resident died at Kissimmee Memorial Hospital, Kissimmee, Fla., Friday, Feb. 3. Born Sept. 3,1889, to Albert and Amanda (Greider) Stocker, she was united in marriage to Emil Kuhn April 11, 1909. He died in 1912. Later, in 1931, she married Allen Gordy. Mrs. Babinsky, mother of Bob and Jack Dean, both of Syracuse, and a former Syracuse License Branch employee, suffered a light stroke on January 27 and was transported to Whitley County Hospital. Her husband had been a patient there for two weeks before both were transferred.

Donald Pearson Dairy Farmer Donald E. Pearson, 81, r 1 Warsaw, died in his home at 11:05 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5. Born Jan. 21, 1903, in Whiteland, he moved to the North Webster area in November from Indianapolis. Married April 15,1933, to Daisy Belle Sloat, he was a dairy farmer and a member of the Masonic Lodge 608, Indianapolis. Surviving are: his wife; two grandchildrn; and two sisters, Christine Duckworth, Franklin, and Betty Andrews, Detroit. A daughter preceded him in death. The body was cremated. 2:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3. He had been a patient there for 2H weeks following a three month illness. Mr. Redsecker was born May 5, 1921, in Des Moines, lowa, to W. W. and Coble (Gjllespi) Redsecker. He moved to Goshen 50 years ago, was a 1939 graduate of Goshen High School and a 1943 graduate of Indiana University. A veteran of World War 11, he was a member of the Goshen Veterans of Foreign Wars, GoshenElks Club, Gosehn City Church of the Brethren and a charter member of Maplecrest Country Club where he served on the house committee. Originally with Barter Manufacturing Company in Goshen, Mr. Redsecker had been manager of manufacturing at CTB Inc., Milford, for a number of years. He was married June 14, 1946, to Miriam Haberstich. She survives. Additional survivors include: a daughter, Jeane, San Francisco, Calif.; and a son, John, New York city. A sister, Mrs. Mariane L. Slayton, preceded him in death. Services were held Tuesday at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Interment was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Syracuse EMS Syracuse Emergency Medical Service was called to the American Legion, Syracuse, at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, after Maurice Snyder, 55, 118 W. Portland St., Syracuse, fell on the ice injuring his nose. He was treated at the scene, but not transported. Nicole LeAnn Orten, three months old, 218 North St., Syracuse, was transported by Goshen Hospital on Sunday, Feb. 5, after becoming ill. The EMS was called at 11:29 p.m.

Blakeley, Sr., 84, Saint Mary’s, Ohio. Surviving are: one son, Rolland Blakeley, Jr., of North Webster; one daughter, Peg Kohli, Saint Mary’s, Ohio; three grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren. Martha Koppel Syracuse Resident Martha Hoppel, 75, r 4 Greenhaus Apartments, Syracuse, died at Goshen Hospital Tuesday, Feb. 7, after becoming ill at her residence Monday, Feb. 6. When firemen arrived the fire in the engine compartment was nearly out. Fire officials stated the fire was caused by a carburetor backfire. Damage to the car was estimated at $l5O. The owner of the car is unknown.
