Sharing at Christmas means fun for family
Christmas is a time for learning, for family and certainly a time for having good old fashioned fun. With a little imagination and a lot of love Christmas can become a time your child will always remember fondly. A Time For Sharing Children can gain a feeling of achievement before the holidays by starting a savings account for Christmas. As the day approaches, the children can learn to balance the Christmas budget by not over spending, but keeping with their limits. To coin an old phrase, “Give until it hurts, ” should become the motto of the season. At least give until it hurts a wee bit. To see ones own savings dwindle while giving to others is true giving. This giving can help a child to be come less selfish as a human Also, children can be taught to receive joy from giving to charities. And isn’t that what the Christmas season is all about? Planning allowances and projects by which the children can save for their own Christmas shopping will bring the family together and can also be one of the greatest gifts a parent can give his children. Christmas Cake For Christ Another way to bring the family together while keeping in the true spirit and meaning of Christmas is the baking of a Christmas Cake. As Christmas becomes more commercial each season families think less about the true meaning of Christmas. One way to prevent this attitude and unite the family during the season is to bake a cake which honors the birthday of the Christ child. Make the cake a family project by having the the older children help with the actual mixing and baking, while allowing the younger children to help decorate the cake. All will enjoy the project and each family member will learn more about the meaning of Christmas. Tuck A Lot Os Love In Before you finally wrap that gift in the beautifully decorated wrapping paper you have chosen, please remember to tuck a lot of love inside each Christmas present. The gift may soon be wornout and its usefulness past, but always we can be quite sure that the love we tucked in will last. And though the gift may be small or inexpensive, the love that is tucked in will change it into something rich and rare. Bear in mind as well that it really is the thought that counts. After all how many times has a young child been know to disguard the expensive toy after

a few moments only to play for hours with the box it came in? Adults are the same way really. Itsnot the size of the gift or its value. It really is the feeling behind it and the love that comes with the gift that counts. Family Projects Do you remember the closeness you felt as mother and dad lifted you to the top of the tree to plant the sparkling gold star on top? Share this special feeling with your children too. Plenty of projects are right at hand in which the entire family can work together. Stringing cranberries and popcorn for the tree could be the answer. How about making sparkling cards for the season this year? Consider caroling together or making Christmas cookies and candy.
