Silver Thimbles have yule party

The Silver Thimble Club of Milford held a Christmas dinner at a Warsaw restaurant on Monday evening. Mrs. Richard Kaiser served as mistress of ceremonies for the evening. The 28 members were seated at tables laid with lace placemats, red tapers and greenery. Victorian pin cushions were favors. Mrs. Kaiser read “Christmas Year Around,” after which the women sang the “Doxology.”

Ek I Bfl kl If w 50TH ANNIVERSARY — Mr. and Mrs. Edward Newcomer, Warsaw. will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Sunday, Dec. 11, from 2-5 p.m. The open house will he in the home of their granddaughter, Mrs. Brian (Tammy) Knisley, r 5 Syracuse. Hosting the open house are the couple’s children: Mrs. Charles (Patsy) Summerlot and Mrs. George (Laura) Coqui Hard both of Syracuse; Edward Newcomer. Jr., Donald Newcomer. Terry Newcomer and Mrs. Erwin (Connie) Busi all of Pierceton; Mrs. Bobby (Betty) Cook, North Webster; Floyd Newcomer, Angola; and Kenneth (“Dick”) Newcomer. Warsaw. Newcomer and the former Geneva Lindxy, were married on December 9, 1933, in her parents home in Warsaw, by Rev. A. W. Littrell. Newcomer is well known as a heating and air conditioning repairman in Kosciusko County. There are 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren in the family. Caroling Carolers will sing and take gifts on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Later refreshments and a social hour will be held at the Apostolic Christian Church hall. The Silver Thimble Club will prepare plates of cheer to be distributed.
