Miss Rassi underwent surgery early on November 14 and is doing well. She is in room 260 at Goshen General Hospital. FOOTCRUSHED Alvin Waldbeser, Milford, broke three or four bones in his foot in a work-related accident that crushed his foot on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Births BLAIR, Brittany Avery Mr. and Mrs. John (Deanna) Blair, r 1 box 293 North Webster, are the parents of a daughter, Brittany Avery, born Monday, Nov. 7, at 9:06 a.m. in Kosciusko Community Hospital. She weighed seven pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Bruce and Naomi Shilling, Ossian; and paternal grandparents are Elbert Blair, Bluffton, and Helen Blair, Warren. Third St., Goshen, are the parents of a daughter, Amber Julie Elizabeth, born Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9:48 a.m. in Goshen Hospital. She weighed six pounds, 4% ounces ■ and was 20 inches long.

Rater, 50, r 3 box 639 Syracuse, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital after suffering chest pains. The Syracuse EMS was called to her home at 9:35 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14. KCH names PR director The appointment of Mike Clifton as director of marketing and gablic relations for Kosciusko ommunity Hospital has been announced by L. Milton Holmgrain, hospital administrator. Clifton began his duties on November 7 and prior to joining the KCH staff, Clifton was editor of ‘the paper’ of Wabash County. He brings to KCH nearly 20 years of experience in newspapers and public relations, working in the past as assistant director of Information Services with Indiana Vocational Technical College in Indianapolis and with newspapers in Wabash, Kokomo and Culver. He is a graduate of the Ray Vogue School of Photography, Chicago; majored in journalism at the University of New Mexico; and has taken various courses in publications design and newspaper law at Indiana University at Kokomo. He and his wife, Cindy Behny Clifton, also a writer, reside at r 2 Wabash with their two daughters: Margaret and Mariah. North Webster plans EMT night An information night on the emergency medical service and being an emergency medical technician will be on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the North Webster Fire Station. Linda Eastman, a certified EMT instructor, will be conducting the course and offering any information to those interested in becoming an EMT. She stated the North Webster EMS is in need of EMTs. Because the course is offered in North Webster, it does not mean those taking the course are only qualified for the North Webster area, anyone may attend. ESCAPES SERIOUS INJURY — Joyce Krall, r 1 Waubee Trailer Court. Milford, sustained contusions and braises, but escaped serious injury when iVr track flipped over on CR lISON at 5:05 d m last Thursday. < r According to Indiana State Police officers. Krall was eastbound on CR 1150 N when she attempted to pass another vehicle at a high rate of speed. She lost control of her 1976 Chevy pickup, ran off the north side of the road, swerved back onto the road and then ran off the south side of the road. Upon leaving the south side of the road the truck struck a ditch and flipped end-over-end three times coming to rest on its top next to a house owned by Steven Mock. Gail Underwood UfetiuMUMW Member Gail C. Underwood, 77, r 1 North Webster, died Monday, Nov. 14, at 10:20 a.m. in Goshen Hospital. Death was due to cancer. She was born in Freedom, Okla., on March 19, 1906, a daughter of William and Florence (Dixon) Cole. On July 21, 1927, she married Rev. A. C. Underwood. He survives. Together the Underwoods served United Methodist Churches in Ligonier, Greenfield, Peru, Decatur, Fort Wayne and Whitley and Huntington Counties. She was a member of the United methodist Women. Mrs. Underwood was also active in church music. The Underwoods moved to North Webster 12 years ago from Fort Wayne. Additional survivors include three sons, Richard,' Charlotte, N.C., and William and Norman, both of Goshen; six grandchildren; and one brother, Rev. W. Dale Cole, Cleveland, Ohio. Friends may call from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Harris Funeral Home, SR 13S Syracuse. Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. in the North Webster United Methodist Church. Dr. Hunter Colpitts and Dr. Donald Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow in the North Webster cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or to the Kosciusko County Cancer Society. Infant Dawson Graveside services were at the Union Center cemetery for the stillborn infant of James and Debra (Tillotson) Dawson, Shamrock Park, Nappanee. The infant was stillborn at the Osteopathic Hospital in South Bend. Also surviving are grandparents, John Dawson, California, Jenny Dawson, Ohiom Eugene Tillotson, Nappanee and Velma Tillotson, Nappanee; great-grandparents, Lillian Leach, Ohio, Ada Tillotson, Nappanee and John Sexton, Ohio. Fred Walls of the Christian Chruch of Milford officiated at the service. The ThompsonYoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, was in charge of the arrangements. Margaret Speicher Former Milford Resident Graveside services were held Monday at the Milford cemetery for Miss Margaret Speicher, 36, former Milford resident who died at the New Castle State Hospital. Fred Walls, assistant minister of the Christian Church of Milford officiated. A resident of the state hospital for 15 years, Miss Speicher was found dead in her room Saturday from to natural causes. Born December 8, 1946, in Milford, she was the daughter of Harvey and Rachel (Tompkins) Speicher. She was a member of the Christian Church of Milford. Survivors include one aunt, Mrs. Wanda M. Evans, Warsaw; and several cousins. The Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, was in charge of arrangments. Robert W. Peterson Robert W. Peterson, 55, a resident of Waubee Lake, r 1 Milford, died in the Kosciusko Community Hospital emergency room following an apparent heart attack in a Warsaw restaurant. He was employed by the Commodore Homes Inc., Syraoise and was a member of the VFW post in Syracuse. Born March 27, 1928 j 0 LaGrange County, he was the son of Oscar and Elsie (Freed) Peterson. He was married Mav 27 1955, to Nancy Whetton.

Survivors include his mother, a resident at Fountainview Place, Goshen; his wife; three sons, Roger, Ligonier, Rick, Milford and Rodney, Syracuse; two sisters, Mrs. Royce (Betty) Rider, Columbia City and Mrs. D.A. (Edna) Traggart, Ligonier; one brother, Paul, Cromwell; and two grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday at 1 at the Christian Church of Milford. Carl Shearer, minister of the church, will officiate. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Syracuse VFW. Interment will be in the New Salem cemetery. Dale Mock Naw Salem Church Member Dale Mock, 79, r 1 Milford, died of an apparent heart attack in his home Sunday night. Born March 5, 1904, in Kosciusko County, he was the son of Reuben and Oxie Jane (Tom) Mock. He married January 1, 1938, to Sarah Bishop, who died on October 6. He was a member of the New Salem Church of the Brethren. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Jane) Monteith, Dixon, Ill.; and Mrs. Richard (Delores) Selvey, Schererville; one son, James Mock, Fort Wayne; one brother, Howard, r 5 Syracuse; eight grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. One brother and one sister proceeded in him in death. Services will be at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) in the New Salem Church of the Brethren with Rev. Glenn Byers officiating. Interment will be in Leesburg cemetery. Albert Crowl World War II Veteran Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, in the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home at Warsaw, for Albert A. Crowl, 70, r 9 Warsaw, brother of Gerald Crowl of Syracuse. Crowl died at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at his home. He has been in failing health for five years.

He was born in Elkhart County on June 23,1913, the son of Alva and Effie (Lippencott) Crowl. He married Kathleen Pratt in 1945. She died in 1966. He married Elizabeth Fairbanks on May 20, 1967. She survives. The deceased was a retired employee of the Weatherhead Company of Columbia City, having worked there for 34 years. He had been a county resident since 1955. * He was a' Navy veteran of World War 11, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 1126, a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Warsaw and American Legion Post 98 of Columbia City. Surviving are the wife and Syracuse brother; one daughter, Mrs. Alzada Priser of Warsaw; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Clayton (Gloria) Kerchenfaut and Mrs. Barbara Keim, both of Warsaw; one other brother, Hugh Crowl of Claypool; one sister, Mrs. Francis (Helen) Hennon of Ontario, Calif.; one grandchild; seven stepgrandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. One brother and four sisters preceded him in death. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, Warsaw. VFW military services were conducted at the cemetery. Naomi Hartzler Sister Os Syracuse Woman Mrs. M. Russell (Naomi Schrock) Hartzler, 76, sister of Mrs. George (Rachel) Weybright of Syracuse, died Monday, Nov. 7, in the home of her daughter, Babette Wheeler, in Minneapolis, Minn. She was born on February 18, 1907, and married M. Russell Hartzler on December 2,1928. He survives. Other survivers are another daughter, Elaine Cowells, Virginia; twin sons, Karyl and Daryl, Michigan; five other sisters, including Mrs. Frank (Mabel) Snider and Mrs. Russell (Esther) Hoover, both of New Paris; and two bothers. A memorial service was held on Sunday in Lansing, Mich.
