FAIRMONT HOSTS EMPLOYEES — Fairmont Homes Inc., Nappanee, hosted its employees to a fall Oktoberfest last Saturday at South Shore Golf Course where tents housed various activities for approximately 3,000 employees and family members. PFAHLER HAS NEW POST — Sam Pfahler has been named personnel manager for CTB Inc., Milford, according to Jim Evans, CTB Inc. president. In his new position, Pfahler will be responsible for hiring and recruiting new personnel, wage and salary administration, coordinating training programs and supervision of insurance programs. Pfahler joined Brock in 1978 as a district sales manager and held the position of Market Development Manager — Agri Products until moving into his new position. He, his wife Mona Lou and their family reside in Goshen.

10 YEARS AGO, NOV. X 1073 Members of the Syracuse Chapter of Order of the Eastern Stars chose “Sound of Music” as their theme when they honored Mrs. Clem Lisor, Sr., on Saturday. Mrs. Lisor is serving the Indiana Grand Chapter OES as Grand Esther this year. Wawasee Warriors shut out the Bremen Lions 33-0 on Friday night. This is their 4th consecutive win this year. Members of the SyracuseWawasee Garden Club met Tuesday night in the home of Mrs. Maurice Koher with Mrs. Peter Blue serving as co-hostess Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sparklin and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Laudeman of Syracuse spent Monday in Michigan viewing the fall leaves and enjoyed a tour of the Kellogg’s plant in Battle Creek. 20 YEARS AGO, NOV. 4,1963 Lois Schleeter edged J. B. Cox for clerk-treasurer in the Syracuse elections. Most voters recorded their preference in the Republican column. There were 540 votes cast at the Boy Scout Cabin in spite of rainy weather. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Lee, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on November 10 at the Friendship House Hall. William Cripe, 16, r 1, Syracuse received minor injuries at about 5:50 p.m. on Monday when the motorcycle he was riding skidded on loose gravel and hit a parked car. Andy Gilbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gilbert spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Semi involved in traffic accident A semi driven by Jeffrey Smith, Ashley, and leased from the Ryder Lease Co., Fort Wayne, struck an auto driven by Robert Miller, Middlebury and owned by the Thunander Corp., Elkhart. The accident, in which the auto received S4OO damage, occurred at the light on North Huntington Street, Syracuse. The truck, which was south bound, was stopped at the light. Miller, the driver of the car, stated that he did not see a turn signal and so pulled to the right side of the truck at the light. As the light changed to green the truck driver proceeded to make a left turn and struck the Miller auto. Leesburg woman's car damage, strikes another automobile A car driven by Diana Fraser, 35, r 1 Leesburg, sustained between S2OO and SI,OOO damage in an accident on October 22. Fraser struck an auto operated by Zoyla Buck, 25, Valley Forge Apartments, Warsaw, which was making a left turn at the intersection of the 3200 block of Frontage Road and Driveway Acres. Damage to the Buck auto was also set between S2OO and SI,OOO.
