Shultz, president of Ashland College and Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, Ohio, speaker for the service. As noted before, the church is observing its 100th anniversary and Sunday’s services climaxed four weeks of special services. Following the 10:30 a m. service a carry-in meal was held and Dr. Shultz spoke at the laying of the corner stone during a 1:30 p.m. service. THE EMERGENCY Medical Service is currently looking for new EMTs and people who will support the Milford volunteer organization. They will hold a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, with slides to explain EMT classes and a discussion with Pam Gaume from the Goshen Hospital. All are invited to attend the meeting, those interested in being an EMT and those who are not but want to support the organization. EMT classes begin early in 1984 and registration fills up fast so names are needed as soon as possible of persons who are willing to donate part of their time to help their fellowman. has not heard anything about their son since the Sunday bombing. Young Vardaman has been a Marine for nearly four years and is scheduled to arrive back in the states in December. OOPS, WE got our eyes crossed when we looked at the calendar. The Milford Area Development Council’s chili supper is not going to be on Friday, Nov. 4. It is going to be on Saturday, Nov. 5. Please plan to attend and support the community building. Proceeds from the event will go to help pay the utility bills there this winter.

MR. AND Mrs. Bill Motts of West Emeline street have twins! Bill is shown holding the twin potatoes the couple found in the garden this year. They have them displayed in a basket, complete with pink and blue ribbon. NATALIE WOLF, formerly of Syracuse, was surprised during work hours at Mogul Rubber Company in Goshen recently when she was presented a large basket of flowers for completing 40 years of work there.
THE ELEMENTARY school is a busy place these days but will be quiet tomorrow and Firday as students and teachers alike enjoy a fall vacation. This afternoon the students will be holding their fall party. Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for November 2 and kindergarten conferences will be held both the 2nd and the 3rd. MR. AND Mrs. Kenneth Haney and daughter Betty Cotton of Pierceton have returned to the area after a trip to Southern Indiana. They visited French Lick, Brown County, the area where
Lincoln spent his boyhood. New Harmony and the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival at Rockville. SR 19 closed in Mentone until Friday In Mentone. SR 19 will be closed approximately 50 feet south of SR 25 until October 28 for reconstruction of the Norfolk and Western Railroad crossing. The official detour is SR 25 and SR 14, which adds approximately 12 miles. Photos need to be picked-up The Syracuse office of The Mail-Journal has a lot of pictures waiting to be picked up. Leesburg girl injured when cars collide Adrianne Mast, seven, of Leesburg, was injured on October 20 when the Chevrolet Cheyenne in which she was riding was involved in an accident in Elkhart County. Mast, passenger in the vehicle driven by Jolanda J. Brandl, 24, Shamrock Meadows, Nappanee, suffered minor head injuries and was not taken to the hospital. Brandl was attempting a left turn onto CR 42 when her auto was hit from the side by a car operated by Richard A. Borkholder, 19, 899 County Line Road, Nappanee. Minor fires Members of the Syracuse Fire Department were called out two times on October 21 to extinguish fires. At 8:12 p.m. the department was called to a North Shroe Drive address to extinguish a fire of old logs Tom Gerstner-was burning. When the firemen arrived the fire appeared to be burning out of control. At 11:53 p.m. the department was called to Main Street after a small pile of papers was found burning near a curb.
