By DAVID M. HUDSON Syracuse United Pentecostal Church The great commission of Jesus Christ unto his 12 Apostles according to Mark’s gospel was to “.. .Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Immediately many today would exclaim, “I’m not a preacher!” Jesus had told his disciples, “I have been with you but I shall be in you” and John 4:14 delcares it to be a “well of water springing up into everlasting life.” The disciples had walked with Jesus some three years and had witnessed the miracles, signs and wonders the which John dedared that if they were written every one, that the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. In revealing himself unto his disciples, following his resurrection, the disciples were terrified because they thought they had seen a spirit when Jesus stood in their midst. He ate with them and Luke 24:45 declares he opened their understanding that they might understand the scriptines and immediately reminded them that repentence and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem. He told them they were witnesses of these things and that he would send the promise of his Father upon them but to wait in Jerusalem until they had received power from on high. Jesus had attempted to prepare his disciples for his departure from this earth. He concluded in Acts 1:8 by informing them they would receive power after the Holy Ghost came upon them and that they were to be witnesses un-

to him in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost part of the earth. Immediately following his* departure, the disciples returned to Jerusalem, waited for the promise of the outpouring of the Spirit and having received it went forth and evangelized the then known world. These were the men that as they departed into the cities round about, the inhabitants of the cities cried out, “these that have turned the world upside down are come hither also.” The disciples reached their world with the gospel from

As a pattern far our lives today we can witness to the world of the grace of God that has touched our life, thus rontimring the missions of the 12 disciples and the commission that Jesus gave unto them. You may not be a preacher but you can be a witness to the world. As his disciples today, the world needs to be turned upside down far the Master.
