Meals for older Americans

Meals for Older Americans are served each day at the following locations: The Scout cabin at Crosson Park, Syracuse; the Pierceton Community Building; Mentone Community Room in the fire station; and the Retired Tigers center, 320 W. Main, Warsaw. Meals for Older Americans is for persons 60 years or older and is a chance to meet new friends, enjoy hot, nutritional meals. The sites are opened several hours each day including noon for programs. Meals for Older Americans is not associated with Welfare but is for the promotion for better health for the older population. Donations are accepted for the meals. The site directors request all persons planning on attending the meals to make reservations by 1 p.m. the day prior to attending. Phone 457-2631 for Syracuse transportation and reservations. THURSDAY — Cranberry juice, baked chicken quarter, buttered noodles, carrot-raisin salad, blueberry muffin, margarine, milk, tea and coffee FRIDAY — Tomato juice, meatloaf and gravy, au gratin potatoes, lime perfection salad, rye bread, margarine, custard pudding, milk, tea and coffee MONDAY — All sites will be closed TUESDAY — Assorted juice, spaghetti and meat sauce, cottage cheese salad, broccoli cuts.

Karen Haney and Lisa Kaiser, both members of the Creative Coed 4-H Club, Milford, recently won honors for their club. Karen Haney received word that she has been accepted to parj. ticipate in the 4-H State Band. Area students named to Ball State's dean's list

A total of six area students have been named to the spring quarter dean's list at Ball State University. To qualify for the dean's list, an undergradute must earn a grade point average of 3.6 to 4.0 and carry 12 or more hours of academic work for college credit.

Kim Deßolt attends camp Kim Deßolt, Syracuse, was one of over 100 4-H youngsters who attended the Elkhart County 4-H camp at Limberlost Camp, Inc., on Oliver Lake in LaGrange County, June 19-22. During the four-day camping program, 4-H members took part in several special activities Dr. Allan Longroy, associate professor of chemistry, lU-PU Fort Wayne regional campus, presented a chemical magic show. Also, Sergeant William Hixon, Goshen police department, presented an attack dog demonstration. Other special activities included an outdoor cookery demonstration, plus a class on 4-H trips and awards.
