Syracuse answers 2 fire calls June 21 at 12:09 p.m., the Syracuse Fire Department was called to Liberty Coach. Fire was out when the firemen arrived. The fire was thought to be caused by spontaneous combustion. The firemen checked out the scene and returned to the station. The Syracuse Fire Department was called to the area near Poor Doll House June 21 at 2:37 p.m. to put out a grass fire.

I w HORSESHOE CONTEST — Charles Garner and Melvin Small, residents of Leesburg, are practicing for the horseshoe contest to be held during Leesburg's Sesquicentennial Celebration. The event is open to everyone and will be held on Jefferson Street beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 30. Milford police receive 188 complaints
Milford Marshal David Hobbs submitted a summary of the police department activities to the Milford Town Board on Tuesday, June 14. The following is the summary for the department between May 10 and June 14. The department received 188 complaints and investigated five traffic accidents, totaling $3,500 damage. There were six traffic, two felony and one juvenile arrests. Officers received reports of two stolen properties and investigated one theft report. The department recovered the two stolen property items valued at $2,100. There were two gun permits issued, three dog complaints and three dogs impounded with four record checks made. Officers received one lost person report and removed one car from town streets. Officers answered two alarms and extended nine courtesies. There was one vandalism report, 23 title checks and 12 message delivered. Booked At Jail Area police arrested four Lakeland residents, three on alcohol related charges this week. Those arrested and booked in the Kosciusko County Jail were: A 15-year-old Milford girl who was taken into custody after being reported as a runaway. Anna Lovina Heche, 41, r 2 North Webster, was booked for public intoxication. She was released on her own recognizance. Sharone Milderbrandt, 51, Lake Wawasee, was charged with driving while intoxicated and released on her own recognizance. Timothy Dale Strombeck, 30, r 2 North Webster, was relaeased on his own recognizance after being charged with driving while intoxicated.
