Oakwood Park with the sermon to be delivered by Rev. Harlan Steffen. Special music will be provided by Bob and Ann Lowery of Kokomo and Rev. David Maish will be the worship leader. The Boat-In Worship is sponsored by the Syracuse Ministerial Association with five churches participating in the service — Church of the Brethren, Saint Andrew’s United Methodist, Calvary United Methodist, Church of God. Wawasee Lakeside Chapel — along with the Oakwood Retreat Center. The association invites everyone to attend the weekly “come as you are” services. Persons may arrive by car and sit on the shore or stay in their boats. Services begin at 8:30 a.m. and last one-half hour. They are held on a pontoon with a loudspeaker system.

Jeff Whittaker, who plays the king, and Walter Oneil, who plays the prince, are actors in the production which features audience participation. The play is scheduled for Saturday, June 25, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
5K run The Winona Lake Park Department is sponsoring a five kilometer run on Saturday, July 2, beginning at noon at the Winona Lake Park. The course will take runners through the residential Winona Lake area on generally flat terrain. Trophies will be awarded to the first man and woman finisher in the race and to the first place finishers in each age group. Entrants will be divided into the following classifications: Men — 14 and under, 15-20, 21- 26-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51 and over Women — 14 and under, 15-21, 22- 30-39, 40 and over T-shirts will be given to the first 200 entrants. Registration can be made at the Winona Lake Park Department office from 10:30 to 11:30 a m. daily or you may receive information by calling Dennis Duncan at 269-2174.

I Wawasee Directory 'B3 now available I The 1983 Wawasee Directory, published by the Wawasee Property Owners | Association under the direction of Vice President Jack DeHaven, is now available for Lake Wawasee residents and interested | persons. The directory, which contains the | names and pier numbers of property owners in the sequence that they are located around the lake, was first published in 1978. Updated editions have been released in 1980, 1981, J 982 and 1983. The directory also contains an alphabetical listing of Wawasee property owners, along with their non-Lakeland addresses. In addition, the Wawasee Directory contains a number of short articles dealing with area history, water safety, trivia items, and also features a map of the area. Jack DeHaven, longtime vice president of the Wawasee Property Owners Association, is responsible for organizing i the book. DeHaven also instigated the I numbering of piers around Lake Wawasee several years ago. I : - I

KU ENCHANTED HILLS OPENS SEASON — Chicago actress Darlene Williams, pictured above, will star as the irrepressible Dolly in the Enchanted Hills Playhouse’s premier blockitouster, “Hello, Dolly!”, set to open this evening (June 15) and run through June 26. The vivacious and statuesque leading lady received Chicago’s prestigious Jefferson Award for her zesty' performance in classic “Tartuffe.” Miss Williams’ incomparable renditition of “Climb Every Mountain” at the 1983 Enchanted Hills Theatre Guild Style Show was the dramatic climax of the evening. She will encore that performance this season in “The Sound of Music.” Also featured in “Hello, Dolly!” will be Rick Munger, also of Chicago, as Dolly’s blustering skinflint husband-to-be, Teresa Bomberger, Gregory Franklin, Rosalind Hurwitz and Walter O’Neil, with musical direction by Doug Bomberger.
