MEMBERS OF the Milford Elementary School’s third grade classes took advantage of a nice day on Tuesday to walk to the Lakeland Loving Care Center where they presented a collection of songs to LLCC residents. Each child took with him or her a gift which was given to one of the residents at the end of the program. 808 AND Marilyn Brown’s youngest son, Andy, graduated from Purdue University in ceremonies at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the PU music hall. Andy has a BS from the school of technology with a major in building construction. He has joined the firm of Phend and Brown, Inc., Milford. '

Andy was honored at a reception following graduation in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Brown in West Lafayette. Both Andy’s dad and his uncle Glenn are graduates of Purdue. His three brothers, Dan, David and Douglas also have degrees from Purdue. CITIZENS OF the area are being invited to Make a “pig” of themselves! That’s what the Order of the Eastern Star posters say anyway as they are inviting people to the eggs, pancake and sausage breakfast on May 30 from 5:30 until 9 a.m. at the Masonic Temple. The breakfast on Memorial Day, like the MAD chicken
barbecue, has become a tradition. IT WILL be a busy week end for Don and Nancy Arnold as their son, Doug Walker, graduates from Ball State University on Saturday and daughters Carol and Cheryl Walker graduate from Wawasee High School on Sunday. Doug will graduate with a journalism degree and will return to this newspaper’s staff on Tuesday. He worked in the editorial department last summer between his junior and senior years in college. DON’T FORGET Saturday is the day for the Lakeland Youth Center’s production of “The Wizzard of Oi.” It will be presented at 10 a.m. in the auditorium at Wawasee High School and promises to be delightful. THE PRINTING plant of The Papers Incorporated was picked as the educational tour for the Fort Wayne Unit of Wally Byam Caravan Club International last Friday. The club was holding its spring rally and 20th year reunion at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds. Support meeting May 24 The first monthly meeting of the Elkhart County Alzheimer’s Family Support Group will be on Tuesday, May 24 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the board room of the Elkhart Hospital. Senile dementia of the Alzheimer’s type appears to be the most frequent cause of irreversible dementia in adults. The support group provides an opportunity for family members of patients to discuss problems associated with the disease. Announce winners of Evening Bridge-O-Rama
The Lakeland Evening Bridge-O-Rama held its season wrap-up meeting Friday, May 13. Awards were presented to the top four net and top four gross winners. They are: First — Charles Taylor and Tom Donley Second — John Hagen and Robert Jones Third — Richard and Mary Prescott Fourth — Hal and Francie Traviolia First gross — Charles and Ann. Haffner Second gross — Louis and Jackie Kuilema Third gross — Max Ellen Meditch and Bob Ahrns Fourth gross — Dale and Lois Allen Bridge was played on Friday with men’s honors going to Charles Taylor, first; Tom Donley, second; and Charles Haffner, third. Women’s honors went to Dot Hite, first; Lois Allen, second; and Jeanne Gardiner, third. During a brief business meeting, co-chairman for the 1984 season were named. They are Charles Taylor, Tom Donley and Charles and Ann Haffner. The group elected to donate the
balance of its season’s proceeds to the Syracuse Scout Cabin.
