10 YEARS AGO. APRIL 11.1973 A report was made at the Monday evening meeting of the Milford town board on the engineers report of the water study made recently. The report has not been studied by the board as yet. Milford volunteer firemen burned three old buildings at Redman Park, Dewart Lake. Sunday morning for owner James Kline. Kline plans to clean the park area and make it into a recreational trailer park. It will include a small store and an improved bathing beach, the home builder and developer stated. Firemen planned to burn the buildings on Saturday, but a strong wind coming across the lake made burning at that time inadvisable. Milford town marshal Don Drake is currently questioning a number of juveniles and minors on numerous thefts which have taken place in the past several months in and around Milford and the surrounding area. Drake said several persons had been implicated in connection with the thefts and all will be questioned before arrests are made. 20 YEARS AGO. APRIL 11,1963 Mrs. Hattie Becker is building a new five-room bungalow home in Jefferson township, southwest of Milford. She recently sold her farm to Mr. and Mrs. Max Anglin, retaining 25 acres on which she is building her home. Brad Beiswanger. a student at Indiana university, arrived home Wednesday to spend his Easter vacation with his parents. Mr. and Mrs Arlo Beiswanger, at Milford. Sunday dinner guests of Marshall Miller of r 1 Milford were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd J Yoder and family. Mr. and Mrs. Don Wuthrich and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sorensen and family, all of Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Don Vetor, Kay and friend. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Adams and daughters, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wilson and family of Anderson called on Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pinkerton Sunday afternoon.
Warsow 10,000 run for MS
Runners from across northern Indiana will come to Warsaw on Sunday, May 21, to participate in the Warsaw 10.000 Run for MS, sponsored by Miller Lite Beer and the Athletic Annex. The event will give athletes an opportunity to help the 1,000 persons with Multiple Sclerosis in the northern Indiana area. Starting time will be 2 p.m. The 10,000 meter course starts and finishes at the Kosciusko Community Fairgrounds on East Smith Street. An after-race hospitality tent is being provided by Miller Lite Beer. Phil Kreig, teacher at Warsaw Freshman High School, is honorary race director. Errol White is serving as runmaster. He is a track coach at Warsaw Freshman High School and owner of the Athletic Annex in Warsaw. The course is on mostly flat terrain through residential areas around Winona Lake. Awards will be given in 20 male and female age categories. In addition, a pledge event is being offered to qualifying runners with the highest pledge total; prizes from Summit City Court Club.
