Walnut Creek widens at channel

The US Army Corps of Engineers has announced that Rabin Stephens, r 2 box 99, Warsaw, has applied for permission to widen and deepen Walnut Creek in the Center Lake Retreat Channel. Stephens plans to build an island in the creek, located in a wetland area, in order to establish a mobile home park. According to a notice by the Army Corps of Engineers, the proposal was partially constructed without authorization from the Department of the Army. After the unauthorized activity was discovered, Stephens was prohibited from any further construction on the project. In order for Stephens to complete the project, a water quality certificate from the Indiana Stream Pollution Control board must be obtained. The federal branch of the various departments of the fish

REMC receives benefits

Members of the Kosicusko County REMC will be receiving the benefits of a recent wholesale Host families sought Host families are being sought for 25 high school students from Sweden, Norwar, Denmark, Finland. Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Columbia, Brazil. Canada and Japan for the school year 1983-84, in a program sponsored by the American Intercultural Student Exchange (AISE). Students, age 15 through 17, will arrive in the United States in August 1983 and return to their home country in late June. The AISE is also seeking American high school students of the same age who would like to spend a high school year in a foreign country. County REMC s portion of the refund is the $308,471 Lynn Collyer, manager of Kosciusko County REMC, announced that this refund will be made in the form of a credit per kilowatt hour on all REMC members bills during the March, April and May billing periods The amount of credit will not show as a separate item on the bills, but will be figured in on each bill during these three months.
