Doris Kubacki hostess for Pierceton dub Alice Wilson reported on the president’s council meeting when Pierceton Extension Homemakers met February 7 at the home of Doris Kubacki. Sandra Frush read two poems, “A Feathered Valentine” and “For Patience. ” The lesson “Harassment of Women” was presented by Ruth Menzie. It was announced that Mr. and Mrs. Carl Burnworth would be delivering Mobile Meals on February 9. Mrs. Wilson discussed a summary of political facts about America. Mrs. Wilson also presented the health and safety lesson The garden report was given by Irene Salmon. The meeting closed with everyone repeating the club collect in unison. Refreshments of cherry pie, ice cream, nuts, mints, punch and coffee were served by Mrs. Kubacki and Mrs. Salmon. Charm And Chatter club learns about Crystal Shoemaker The February 7 meeting of Charm And Chatter Club was held at the home of Helen Cline with Colleen Bryant assisting. Corrinne Staples presented excerpts from the life of Crystal Shoemaker. Letters from Eva Brunner were read by Dot Baumle and Dorothy Snoke. The ways and means committee asked each member to pay one penny for each inch of her height. Devotions were given by Lois Blaugh. In honor of Valentine’s Day she gave a reading about “Love.” Reports were given by Mrs. Bryant, garden remarks; Marge Warner, health and safety; and Carol Ritchie, citizenship. The lesson, “Microwave Holiday Fantasies,” was demon&Uated by Mrs. Staples. marble fudge in the microwave and served other snacks previously prepared in a microwave oven. It happened in —

World Day of Prayer finalized North Webster Church of The Brethren Women’s Fellowship met February 8 at the home of Annette Mock. Details were finalized for the World Day of Prayer observance. Mrs. Mock read the minutes of the January meeting. Devotions were given by Mabie Shawver. She read the “Legend of the Dogwood Tree” and closed with prayer. Time was spent cutting out coupons and used postage stamps for missionary work. A day meeting is scheduled for March 8 with Virginia Penn as hostess.

D6n6l it Tourney to be held April 15 Refreshments were served by Sue Gerke on February 7 following the monthly meeting of North Webster Firemen’s Tidies ' Auxiliary . The meeting was held at the fire station. Plans were furthered for the Fire Department benefit basketball tourney. It is hoped there will be six teams participating including: members of the fire department. Lions Club, North Webster school teachers and American Legion. The event is scheduled for April 15 at the North Webster school gym. New officers for Sechrist 65's A slate of new officers was presented and accepted by Sechrist Sixty Five Club during the February 9 meeting held at the home of Karen Richardson. Dixie Pryor was assistant hostess. The new officers are: Marilyn Klienfelter — president Marian Breyer — vice president Lynn Atwood — secretary Julie Badskey — treasurer The club creed and pledge to the American flag were repeated in unison. A craft lesson on metal puncture was taught by Mrs. Richardson. An assortment of decorative items were made with 20 different patterns to choose from. Announcements were made concerning members who are ill or have family members in the hospital. Following the business session euchre was played. Theima Burger placed high, Mrs. Kiser placed low and Mrs. Grimes received the door prize. Location of the March meeting is to be announced.
Senior Citizens make Valentine's Valentines were made and games enjoyed on February 9 when Senior Citizens met at North Webster Church of God. There were 43 persons present. Dorothy Snoke made several announcements and gave devotions. Monthly program committees for 1983 were designated. A gift was presented to Mr. and Mrs. Bus Likens in honor of their golden wedding anniversary.
A carry-in dinner was served at noon. Members of the committee were Deb Neterer and Eldonna Warren. A program of vocal music was presented by a trio consisting of Wanda Mickley, Mrs. Warren and Sally Johnson. -NWBOOKEDATJAIL Jerry Dale Akers, 31, 303 North Henry St., Milford, was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail, Monday morning, Feb. 14, at 3:12 am. Akers was booked on a charge of public intoxication by Milford Marshal David Hobbs.
