Staley to leave Wawasee
Junior varsity basketball coach and driver’s education instructor Rob Staley has been appointed assistant principal of Fairfield High School. Staley has been with Wawasee High School since May of 1982. He was hired to serve as junior varsity-varsity assistant coach for John Wysong’s basketball program and to teach driver’s training and career classes. SROB STALEY Staley’s primary responsibility at Fairfield will be discipline and attendance records. He is scheduled to start his new job January 24. Howard Hull, Wawasee principal, hopes to name a temporary replacement to fill the vacant post for the remainder of the semester. Anyone wishing to apply for the position should contact Hull at the high school. Staley does not plan to coach any athletic teams at Fairfield. “I am very happy here and I appreciated every day of my semester here. Wawasee has an excellent administrative and coaching staff. The administration, John, and other faculty members have been very supportive of the situation,” said Staley. “Wawasee is an excellent school,” Staley said. Merle Holderread of Milford, has accepted a position as medical technician at the Flagstaff, Arizona, Community hospital, beginning her new duties January 1,1963. She graduated on December 8 from Carngie college in Cleveland, Ohio, and left Milford on December 26 for Arizona. Miss Holderread was a Milford high school honor student graduating with the class of 1961. Jim Kizer of Oswego, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kizer of Milford, has been transferred to the district office of the Firestone Company in Indianapolis. The Kizers are moving to Greenwood. Schroer, chairman and chief executive officer of Northern Indiana Public Service Company, recently announced that directors of the utility have declared a quarterly dividend of 37V 2 cents a share on the outstanding common stock of the company. Waubee Lake area was the only area without electricity due to the wind storm Monday evening; and Tuesday,""Dec 27 and 28. Northern Indiana Public Service Company officials stated that in addition to the Waubee Lake area, other areas south of the Wawasee sub-station, on SR 13, were without electricity for about one hour.

parents. Mr and Mrs Andrew Beer and family on Christmas. An attempt to maintain the station of the Winona lines at Milford Juct.. has failed and the station will be closed. The station at New Paris was to be closed at the same time but permission was not granted. Several of the business men of New Paris, objected to the closing of that station, and it was decided the station at that place should remain open and operate. Theo. C. Frazer, receiver for the Winona lines, claimed the business had increased in New Paris and could justify them in keeping the station open.
