Cub Scouts sing carols at nursing home Dec. 16
Syracuse Cub Scout Pack 3828 visited the Lakeland Loving Care Nursing Home, Milford, on Thursday. Dec 16. to sing carols for the residents and staff. The Cub Scouts presented small handmade items to the residents. The pack then returned to Saint

1 do my own work and would get along fine if it were not for my neighbors. One has help and the other has a husband who travels. Almost every morning one of them and sometimes both of them come in and sit around for hours. We have a cup of coffee and I would enjoy their company if it were not for the fact that my work is not getting deme. We have our big meal in the middle of the < day and as my husband works in a garage he only has an hour for dinner. He gets awfully peeved when it is not ready. Jay and Myrtle Busscher renew marriage vows Nov. 21
Jay and Myrtle Busscher, Syracuse, celebrated their 40th wedding annivers try by renewing their marriage vows in a ceremony November 21, at 2:20 p.m. in Bethesda Chapel, Goshen. Pastor Edgar Miller performed the ceremony. Twilla Bornman, Syracuse, played the wedding recital and Phyllis Miller, White Pigeon, Mich., along with Mrs. Bornman, sang a duet, “To God Be The Glory.’’ The altar was decorated with four candles, each one representing 10 years of marriage, in brass candleholders and pink roses. Mrs. Busscher wore her daughter’s Wedding dress. It was floor-length of bonded lace with overskirt of chiffon, lace applique accents and attached train of bonded lace with lace inserts. She wore a fingertip veil with crown of pearls and carried a bouquet of rose and burgundy roses, with tan and pink flowers and baby’s breath. Bridesmaids were their granddaughters, Vicky Engelsman. Hamilton, Mich., and Jennifer Buhrt, Leesburg. Calvary Circle* hold holiday meeting* The following individual dub reports were received from the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse: The Lois Circle met in the youth room on December 15 at 1 p.m. with Millie Shively and Clea Hom serving as hostesses for 12 members. Izel Beck was program leader for the day and she presented “The 23rd Psalm for Today.” by C. R. Gibson and “Mary’s Miracle.’’ Her program was closed with prayer. Prayer partners were revealed and new ones were drawn for the coming year. The business meeting was conducted by Millie Shively, circle leader. Martha Circle met in the church parlor at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and breakfast was served in the youth room. Christmas decorations adorned the room. Mary Margaret Willard was the program leader and she was assisted by other members of the group. The program was entitled. “What Gift Will You Bring?” and was closed with a prayer. More activities included hymn singing and prsentation of the new piano. The business meeting was conducted by Betty Eaton, circle leader.

The three granddaughters wore identical dresses featuring multi-print navy skirts with lace trim, pink bodices with pearl buttons and sheer long sleeves. Bestmen were their grandsons. Rodney Engelsman, Hamilton. Mich., and Matthew Buhrt, Leesburg. The usher was Douglas Adams, Syracuse. Special guests were Jeanette Busscher, Zeeland, Mich., mother of Busscher; and Anna Miller, White Pigeon. Mich. They were presented pink carnations. Following the ceremony a reception was held for family and friends from New Paris; Leesburg; Millersburg; Syracuse; Chicago, Ill.; Jenison. Holland, Zeeland, White Pigeon and Hamilton, Mich. The couple was honored at a dinner on November 20 in a Bristol Restaurant. Those attending were their daughters and families, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald (Yvonne) Engelsman. Rodney and Vicky from Hamilton, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis (Janice) Buhrt, Matthew, Jennifer and Rachel from Leesburg. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Miller, White Pigeon, Mich., also attended. The Busschers were married on November 22. 1942. in the chapel on Hamilton Field Air Force Base, San Francisco. Calif Milford Lions hold family nite Monday The Christmas spirit filled the air as the Milford Lions held a family night Monday. Family members were dinner guests of Jennie Heckaman, who serves the meals. to club members during their regular meetings. Tables in the Milford Community Building were festive with red and green candles and greenery for the Old Fashioned Christmas party and bountiful ham dinner. Christmas gifts were presented to Mrs. Heckaman and to her granddaughter, Vicki Foltz, for the work they have done for the Lions during the past year. Mrs. Heckaman, in turn, presented each family with a gift of snacks or homemade bread. Following the meal and gift presentations games were played by young and old alike.
