Debra Tucker becomes bride of O. J. Schroeder
Miss Debra Jean Tucker of 1103 West 10th Street, LaPort, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Tucker of r 2 Warsaw, became the bride of Othmar Joseph Schroeder of r 6 Frankfort, son of Mr Edward B Schroeder and the late Clara Schroeder of r 4 Jasper, on Saturday, Nov. 6.1:30 p m., in the Walnut Creek United Methodist Church in Warsaw. The double-ring ceremony, attended by 175 guests, took place before an altar decorated with burgundy roses and pink and white accent flowers The can delabras were highlighted with arrangements of burgundy carnations, dusty rose accent flowers and silver bows Rev. Tory Hardcastle of the Walnut Creek United Methodist Church and Rev. Martin Horvath of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Warsaw, officiated at the ceremony z Organ selections were performed by Mrs. Robert Kline and Donna Schroeder, soloist, sang “May Each Day.” and “The Lord’s Prayer ” The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a white gown featuring a satin bodice, sheer sleeves with lace trim and satin cuffs. The collar, yoke, and hem were accented with lace. A long three-tiered veil with scalloped edges and lace flower accents fell from a lace covered headpiece. She carried a bouquet of white roses with dusty rose and burgundy accent flowers in a cascade arrangement set off by baby's breath. The maid of honor was Cy nthia Tucker, sister of the bride, wearing a burgundy taffeta gown with ruffles at the neckline and at the ends of the puffy elbow-length sleeves. A burgundy cumberbund cinched the waistline. She carried a cascade arrangement of burgundy carnations. Bridesmaids were Donna Schroeder of Indianapolis and Teresa Schroeder of Jasper. They wore burgundy taffeta gowns that matched the maid of honor's. They carried cascade flower arrangements with burgundy carnations Edward J Schroeder of Jasper served as best man and Edward J Schroeder of Jasper. Dennis Tucker of Warsaw and JeffreyTucker of Warsaw served as ushers. The mother of the bride wore a street length dress in dusty pink. Hostesses for the event were Cindy Zehr of Silver Lake; Ann Buechler of Jasper, sister of the bridegroom; Rose Mary Tullis of Valparaiso, sister of the bridegroom; and Kathy Schroeder of Haysville, sister-in-law of the bridegroom. The couple now resides in Frankfort . 1 The bride is a 1975 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and obtained her BS degree in agriculture from Purdue University, West Lafayette, in 1979 and her MS degree in education in 1981. She was employed as a LaPorte County Cooperative Extension 4-H youth agent prior to her wedding. The bridegroom is a vocational agriculture instructor at Clinton Prairie High School in Frankfort. He graduated from Dubois High School in 1976 and obtained his BS degree in agriculture at Purdue University, West Lafayette, in 1980. The Successful 4-H'ers and the Creative Co-ed 4-H clubs held a joint Christmas party on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Milford Community Building. Karen Haney led the group in 72 attend annual Beer Christmas dinner Luella Beer. Lakeland Loving Care Nursing Center resident, was among the family members present for the annual Ezra Beer Christmas dinner held Sunday. Dec. 19, at the Apostolic Christian Church fellowship hall in Milford Approximately 72 relatives joined together for a traditional turkey and trimmings potluck dinner for the celebration Each year, a different family coordinates the dinner and fellowship time. This year, Maurice and Betty Beer were in charge of the dinner plans.

A gift exchange was another part of the party's activities. Kristi Templin led the American pledge and Laura Haney led the 4-H pledge. At the close of the party, each club held a short business meeting where record books and enrollment cards were distributed. The Creative Co-eds decided to meet the second Thursday of each month under the direction of Clara Kaiser and Jane Templin while the Successful 4-H’ers, led by Greg Kaiser, will meet the third Thursday of each month. Ham sandwiches, potato chips, Christmas cookies and punch were served to the groups by their leaders. Next month's individual club meetings will be devoted to election of officers.
