Demolition continues...

The two photos above show the continued demolition at the Milford Junior High School. Both photos were taken last Friday. The old school is being razed by Jim Hamman of Hamman and Son Crane and Excavating Service and Pete Gawthrop of Gawthrop Construction, both of Leesburg. Progress is slow

rdr .. E * s PROMOTED — The Board of Directors of the State Bank of Syracuse recently announced the promotion of Susan Hulley to the positon of customer service officer. Mrs. Hulley has been with the bank since October of 1974, serving as bookkeeper, teller and in the new accounts customer service area for the past six years. She attended Saint Joseph College in Rensselaer, has taken many bank courses through the American Institute of Banking, and is currently the president of Alß’s South Bend Chapter. She and her husband. John, reside in Syracuse and have a son. Johnathon.

because the men are trying to salvage all they can from the building. The building, constructed in 1914, has been abandoned by the Lakeland Community School Corporation and a new junior high school has been built in Milford.

History ot Leesburg | available As part of Leesburg’s celebration of its 150th birthday, the book, “The History of Leesburg and Plain Township,” has arrived and is available at Nine’s Apothecary, Jones Food Store and Lynche’s Service Center. The book was - originally compiled by James W. Armstrong in 1913 and includes history of Leesburg, Oswego and Monoquet. It also entails biographies of individuals and families who lived in the township during the early 1900 s. Anyone interested in heritage is encouraged to purchase a copy of the 238 page paperback book On dean's list at IU Judith Anne Knudsen, 167 North Shore Drive, Syracuse, is among 204 students who were named to the dean’s list for the 1982 summer session at Indiana University. She will be part of the group honored at the traditional Founder’s Day program on the Bloomington campus this spring. Families of the students will be invited to the campus for the program which will honor academic achievement of the students and teaching excellence of the faculty. Students must earn a 3.5 grade average or better in a minimum of 12 hours of course work to be named to the dean’s list.
