In the beginning they handed out peanuts and apples. Now the treats are fruit and candy, but w hatever they are, the children seem to enjoy them. Holiday Rambler suffers $131,350 loss in fire
A Monday night fire occurring in the easternmost building on the Holiday Rambler Corporation complex in Wakarusa caused an estimated $131,350 damage.to two luxury motorhomes, tools, other parts in the building and the building itself Wakarusa fire chief. Abo ruined in the fire and explosion were $9,000 in tools and $12,350 in parts; while building damage was listed at SIO,OOO Smoke had been seen rising out of the building a few minutes before the fire alarm system of Holiday sounded an alarm at 5:52 p m One person who lives near the building said he saw the smoke rising from the building and heard an explosion The explosion blew out eight overhead doors in the structure and the motorhomes had to be pulled from the building before they could be completely extinguished.
Wakarusa firemen were aided by Harrison Township Fire Department who had the blaze under control in an hour. Christmas decoration theft investigated The theft of a Christmas decoration from the front yard of the Howard Dixon residence, r 3 Syracuse, is being investigated by Kosciusko County Police. Dixon reported an approximate four-foot Winnie-the-Pooh character, wearing a Santa Claus costume, was stolen sometime Saturday, Dec. 18.

Deny NIPSCo rate increase
An unanimous decision by the Indiana Public Service Commission turned down a $54.4 million rate increase requested byNIPSCo. The commission said there was no proof of an emergency in the case of NIPSCo who requested the increase for low earnings and stock market value. The request was part of a total

$244 million increase desired by NIPSCo which would raise utility bills 29 per cent. This request follows a sub-, stantial rate increase in August which enabled NIPSCo to recover the abandoned BaiUy nuclear power plant. The PSC will continue the process for the total requested increase.
