Gordon Adams Etanantary Toador At Jefferson Township, Goshen Gordon R. Adams, 76, Texarkana, Ark., brother of Waldo Adams, Leesburg, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in the Parkview Nursing Home, Texarkana, where he was a patient one day. Prior to that he had been in a hospital for one month. He was born on March 28,1906, near Claypool to William and Nora (Black) Adams. Adams was a teacher at Jefferson Elementary School, Goshen, and was a tool and die maker and registered gunsmith. He moved to Texarkana 20 years ago. Survivors include two 1 daughters, Mrs. John F. (Kay) Trenshaw, Goshen and Mrs. Dane (Sue) Bailey, Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Edward (Ho) Kinsey, Warsaw. One sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at the Violett cemetery. Rev. Norman Patton, pastor of First Church of God, officiated at the graveside service. Hilda Bollinger Sister Os Syracuse Man Hilda May Bollinger. 77. 68434 Jackson St.. New Paris, sister of Leonard Stump, Syracuse, died at 12:45 pm. Tuesday, Nov. 16, in Greencroft Nursing Center, Goshen. She was admitted there June 22. She was born on January 1, 1905, to William A and Ivy Belle (McDonald) Stump, in Wakarusa. On December 1. 1922, she married V. Rollin Bollinger. He preceded her in death on February 11,1955. Mrs. Bollinger was a member of the New Paris Church of the Brethren Additional survivors include four sons. Dean R. New Paris. Wallace E. Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to New Paris Church of the Brethren. Wayne Sechrist Self-employed Electrician Wayne L. Sechrist, 70, 456 South Elm St., Nappanee, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in South Bend Osteopathic Hospital. He had been there one day after being in failing health for 12 years with emphysema and heart disease. He was born on June 24, 1912, near Nappanee to Isaac and Mary (Muffley) Sechrist. On June 25, 1933, he married Nellie Lutes, in Leesburg. She survives. Sechrist was a self-employed electrician in Nappanee and a member of the First Church of God, Nappanee. Additional survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Monna) Darkwood and Mrs. Charles (Betty) Young, both of Nappanee; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs Forrest (Georgia) Lutes. Etna Green and Mrs. Reber (Goldie) Schooley. Warsaw; and two brothers. Arthur, Etna Green and Fred. Fort Wayne. A sister and five brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 20, at 10:30 a m. in the Wright-Yoder Funeral Home. Rev. Floyd Whitesei, pastor of the First Church of God. officiated and burial was in Stoney Point cemetery, near Atwood. Glenn E. Goon Lifttime Clunette Resident Glenn E. Goon, 84, r 2 Leesburg. (Clunette) died in his home at 3 am., Thursday. Nov. 18. He had been failing in health for five years. He was born on March 19,1898. to Daniel and Cora (Stump) Goon in North Liberty. On August 30. 1918. he married Nina Long She survives Goon was a member of the New Salem Church of the Brethren, a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of the Clunette area.
Additional survivors include four sons, Gahlon, Anita, lowa, Dale, Fort Wayne, Junior, Leesburg and Donald. Atwood; one daughter, Mrs. William (Vivian) Kern, Syracuse; one brother, Rowland Goon, Lapaz; 21 grandchildren; and 28 greatgrandchildren. One son, one brother and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, in the Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Rev. Glenn Byers and Rev. Orvil ("Fritz”) Kilmer officiated. Burial was in Leesburg cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kosciusko County Diabetes Association. Florence E. Bums Lifetime North Webster Resident Florence E. Burns, P.O. Box 267 North Webster, died Sunday. Nov. 21. at 3:30 a.m.. in the Goshen Hospital. She was born April 1. 1915, at North Webster, to Vern D. and Suzie (Growcock) Strieby, and was a lifetime resident of the North Webster community. On October 5,1934, she married George Burns, who survives. She was a homemaker, a member of the Syracuse Church of the Brethren and a member of the North Webster Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. Survivors, with* her husband, include two sons. David of North Webster, and Charles of Warsaw . five grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; three sisters. Mrs Melvin (Romaine) Schrock. Elkhart. Jim Sluss officiated and burial followed at Zion-Union cemetery. Memorials are requested to the North Webster Emergency Medical Service. Larry L. Leedy Aeronautical Engineer In Marina Del Ray, Calif. Larry Lee Leedy, 43. Marina Del Ray, Calif., brother of Pat Stidham, Syracuse, suf feed an apparent heart attack and died Tuesday, Nov. 16. in his home. Leedy was born in Noble County on December 10, 1938, to Raymond and Velma (Gebert) Leedy. He was an aeronautical engineer for R & D Associates in Marina Del Ray. He had moved from Indiana to California in 1963 Additional survivors include his mother. Mrs Leedy. Pierceton; one son, Daniel Leedy, Newport Beach. Calif.; one other sister, Brenda Pearson. Pierceton; one brother. Roger Leedy. Pierceton; and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 22. at 1:30 p.m., in the Wyman Funeral Home. Pierceton. Rev. John Moore officiated and burial was in Hillcrest cemetery. Roscoe Goble Lifetime Resident Os Geslien-Syrocuse Areas Roscoe (Pete) E. Goble, 86.901 E. Jackson. Goshen, died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday. Nov. 21. in the home of his stepdaughter. Mrs. Delbert (Juanita) Lechel. 216 S. Ninth St-. Goshen. He had been ill 2*2 months He was born on October 31, 1896. in North Webster and had been a resident of the GoshenSyracuse area On February 22. 1941, he married Eureka lona Dempsey, who died on May 30, 1980. Goble was a 35-year member of the Goshen Moose Lodge.

Gaylord West Brother Os Syracuse Man Gaylord West, 64, 1007 Lincolnway West, Ligonier, brother of Dick West, Syracuse, died at 4 a m. Tuesday, Nov. 23. in Goshen Hospital. He had been ill for 10 months. •> West was born on July 10,1918, in Middletown, Ohio, and married Joan Noe on April 12, 1941. * West was a truck driver, a resident of Ligonier for 36 years, a member of Ligonier United Methodist Church, a veteran of World War 11, and a member of the American Legion and Goshen Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife; one son, Gaylord. Jr., Ligonier; two additional brothers, Morris, Ligonier and Gordon. Dayton, Ohio; and five sisters, Mrs. Dean Growcock, Kimmell, Mrs. Clyde Rollins, Mrs. Cecil Johnson. Mrs. Calvin Fisher and Mrs. Gary Bishop, all of Ligonier. Wilson, 90, r 2 Milford, died at 4:30 a m. today (Wednesday) in the Lakeland Loving Care Nursing Home, Milfodrd. He was born in Lostant, 111., on September 5. 1892, to John and Mary (Given) Wilson. In 1917 he moved to Milford where on December 18, 1919, he married the former Elsie Franceway. Sb* died on September 11, 1968. On October 17, 1969, he married Lucille Stansell who survives. Wilson was a farmer and had spent the last several winters in Sebring. Fla. He was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Milford Lions and a former member of the Kosciusko County REMC first board of directors. Additional survivors include one son, Harold, r 2 Milford; six grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister. Mrs. Gynetha Hawks, McNabb, 111. One daughter, Helen, and two brothers preceded him in death. Friends may call from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. on Friday at the Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27. Rev. Cecil May Coy Mother Os Three Area Residents Cecil May Coy, 88, Greenhaus Apartments, Syracuse, died Tuesday. Nov. 23, at 6 a.m.. at Goshen Hospital. She was born June 29. 1894 in Syracuse to Charles and Mary (Lavering) Bushong and was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse and North Webster communities On November 2, 1912. she married Tillman R. Coy. who preceded her in death in 1965.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Syracuse Church of the Brethren and the Home-Ec dub at Syracuse. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Romayne Shock, North Webster, Mrs. Ed (Mary) Broke, Syracuse, and Mrs. Max (Ethel) Neff, of Elkhart; one son. Junior Coy of North Webster; 24 grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Wyland of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by one son, Arthur Coy; one sister; and one brother. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 26, at Harris Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Rev. Chester Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Syracuse cemetery. EARLY MORNING ACCIDENT — A car-semi accident on SR 15 in Milford around 8:19 a.m. Saturday caused an estimated $3,100 damages. The accident occurred at the intersection of SR 15 and Catherine Street as a 1974 Mac semi, driven by Douglas R. Ruch, Milford, struck a 1975 Mercury station wagon driven by Steven A. Gall, r 1 Milford. Gall was headed south on SR 15. Ruch was headed west on Catherine Street in the semi tractor, property of the Syracuse Fire Department. Ruch stopped for the intersection and did not see the southbound auto. Milford Marshal David Hobbs said the trees blocked Ruch's view and it was dark and raining and the car's lights were not on. When Ruch attempted to stop, the brakes malfunctioned and he could not avoid the accident. Hobbs listed damages of $1,600 to the car, shown above; and $1,500 to the semi tractor. Syracuse EMS The Syracuse* Emergency Medical Service responded to the following calls recently: > On November 18, at 1:22 p.m., Teresa Coy, 10-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erma Coy, r 3 box 61 Syracuse, was brought to the Syracuse Fire Station because she was suffering from stomach pains. The EMTs advised the mother how to treat the child, for the present time, and that if the pain persisted to consult a doctor or the hospital emergency room. At 11:05 p.m., on November 20, the Syracuse Emergency Medical Service was called to an automobile accident on State Road 13, near the South Shore Golf Course. Ray McNeal, 36, r 1 box 85A, Warsaw, had been injured when his vehicle struck a utility pole. The patient was transported to Goshen Hospital. Tuesday, Nov. 23, when he fell from the top bunk of a bed at his home. The Syracuse EMS was called at 5:32 p.m., and transported him to Goshen Hospital. Milford EMS The Milford Emergency Medical Service made the following runs within the last two weeks: On Sunday, Nov. 14, a female, 78, suffering from a possible stroke was taken to Goshen Hospital. On Wednesday, Nov. 17, a male, 50, with lacerations from an automobile accident was transported to Goshen. Also on Wednesday, a male, 17, suffering from lacerations on the forehead and nose was transported to Goshen. On Saturday, Nov. 20, a male in his late twenties went to the station for treatment and was advised to go to the hospital. On Tuesday, Nov. 23, a female, 61, was taken to Goshen for direct admission.

Approximately 600 REMC and 300 NIPSCo customers were without power for part of the morning. Service to NIPSCo customers was restored by 6:45 a m. and REMC customers by 7 a.m. One NIPSCo circuit at the Oswego substation was knocked out, affecting customers from Oswego to the outskirts of Leesburg. The REMC customers included those around Oswego, Chapman Lake, Tippecanoe Lake and surrounding areas.
