Syracuse; Rich and Sandi Hoover. Goshen; Terry Hoover. Milford; and Donald Hoover. New Paris. There are seven grandchildren. Hoover and the former Lois Joan Whetten were married on May 21. 1952. in a ceremony conducted by Rev. Edwin Lee Gates at the Methodist Church. LaPorte. There were approximately 50 guests present for a chicken barbecue and games.

Busy Homemakers hold meeting Mrs. Wayne Milter, r 2 Milford, presented a program of bread dough and salt and flour dough items at the June 2 meeting of the Milford Busy Homemakers. Mrs. William Motts. Milford, was the hostess. Members gathered at the Motts home and then traveled to the Milter home for the program. Mrs. Miller had on display items made from the various types of dough These included flowers and vegetables Mrs. Miller also makes miniature dolls for decorations and arrangments for home and gifts from this dough Mrs Glen Pinkerton conducted a short business meeting in which the roll call was answered by 12 members and three guests. Mrs. Doyle Kolberg. Syracuse; Faye Hollar. Leesburg, and Mrs. Elmer Rapp. Milford The roll call was ’ Your Hobby." Mrs Pinkerton then presented a gift to Mrs Ralph Tusing in honor of her and her husband's 40th wedding anniversary A card was also signed and sent to Mrs Harvey Hollar Refreshments were set-red by Mrs Pinkerton and the next meeting will be July 21 in the home of Mrs Paul Schermerhorn. June 13. Their children will host an open house from 2-5 p.m. in their home at the intersection of CR 300 N and CR 475E. The Engelberth’s were married on June 9. 1957, in the First Baptist Church in Warsaw with Rev. Richard Anderson officiating. Mrs. Engelberth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Chalfant. Robin Dr.. W arsaw and her husband is the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Engelberth and the late Henry Engelberth. r I W'arsaw. They are the parents of four children. Debra Engelberth. Goshen; Mrs. Gary (Linda) Mast. Barbee Lake and David and Dawn Engelberth at home. Engelberth is a self-employed farmer while Mrs. Engelberth teaches third grade at North Webster Elementary.
Silver Thimble Club meets
The June 7 meeting of the Silver Thimble Club of the Milford Apostolic Christian Church was held in the church fellowship hall. Joellen Free, activities director of Lakeland Loving Care, Milford, gave a presentation of the volunteer program and showed slides of the nursing home residents Hostesses were Mrs. Lewis Speicher and Edith Baumgartner The June hostesses took flowers to four ladies of the Lakeland Loving Care who had birthdays Guests at the meeting were Mrs Free. Mrs Theo Beer, Mrs Esther Welty and Mrs. Glenn Lessee. There were 16 members present. Mrs Kenneth Beer, president, opened the meeting and reports were given by Mrs Philip Price, Mrs Carlton Beer and Mrs. Jerry Hostetler. It was also decided to give a donation to Ned Speicher. MISS WEBSTER LAKE’ — Aimee Stouder. r 2 Warsaw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Stouder. is sponsored in the Mermaid Festival Queen Contest by Beavers Realty. She is 17 years old. a 1982 Warsaw High School graduate, has brown hair, green eyes and is five feet four fetches tall and is "Miss Webster Lake."

"Happy Birthday" was sung for Mrs Speicher s May birthday and "Happy Anniversary" was sung for the anniversaries of Mrs. Richard Kaiser on May 7; Mrs. Don Hoover on June 4; Mrs Philip Beer on June 7; and Mrs Speicher on June 22. Mrs. Richard Stoller read "Hands And Feet For Him." and "Jesus Loves Me.’’ was sung by the group. The refreshment table was decorated in pastel colors where a frozen dessert, cheese ball, crackers, orange drink and coffee were served. Jeff fall receives degree Jeffrey Fall. Syracuse, recently received a bachelor of business administration degree in management at Northwood Institute's 23rd annual commencement ceremonies in Midland. Michigan. Northwood Institute is a private, independent business and management oriented college with campuses in Midland. Mich.; West Baden. Ind.; and Cedar Hill. Texas. Sheets honored for 35 of service at UTS Lynn Sheets, r 4 Syracuse, was recently honored by United Telephone Company for his 35 years of service at a service anniversary dinner. Sheets selected a jeweled necklace to commemorate his service The event was hosted by Max Gross, northern division plant superintendent for the firm. Sheets joined UTS in 1947 as an installation and repair helper in Rossville. He later served in the US Army for three years and returned to work for UTS at Syracuse, He has been a communications technician for 17 years. Also attending the anniversary were Sheets’ wife. Mary Jane; Russ White, Nappanee district plant supervisor, central office for UTS; and Mrs White. Home from Florida Mr. and Mrs. Gerak! Priest have arrived home at their farm home near North Webster from Kissimmee.
