Children's theatre bigger than ever at Enchanted Hills

The Enchanted Hills Playhouse is preparing for the 1982 season that begins June 16 with the play Fiddler On The Roof and promises a summer of entertainment for theatre audiences, including the youngsters with the Enchanted Hills Playhouse Childrens Theatre program Selections for the little ones will be: “Snow White,"’* “Hansel and Gretel,” "Chicken Little" and “Little Red Riding Hood.” These popular favorites of children are priced so all can afford them and seating is on a "first come, first serve" basis There will be two performances of each show, one at 10 a m and the other at 2 Jaycees meet at Dewart Lake Milford Jaycee meetings are open to any male between the ages of 18 and 35 and other Jaycee members are especially welcomed. No Tippy flotilla to be held

There will be no Tippecanoe Lake Flotilla held this year, according to Maxine Harreld. president of the Women's Auxiliary of the Tippecanoe Lake Property Owners Association Mrs Harreld said the auxiliary voted not to hold the annual flotilla this year, because many property owners have been busy cleaning up and repairing

Dr. Koep. is assistant professor and chairman of communication arts for the Indiana University at South Bend. Members of the 1982 Enchanted Hills Playhouse professional resident com pany will be featured in the children's theatre. This also has been cancelled. Mrs. Harreld acknowledged that many are disappointed the Tippy Flotilla will not be held this summer, but residents can look forward to the event next year.

Subscription to the playhouse guarantees reserved seating and those subscribing are purchasing six tickets, one for each production of the 1982 season. All tickets will be mailed to the subscriber before the season begins. The tickets allow a flexible policy exchange in case the regularly scheduled performance can not be attended The Playhouse Performances are given in a 100-year-old barn which was renovated 14 years ago by the Wawasee Arts Foundation. Theatre seats, a stage and other exterior changes were added in the renovation The playhouse seats 240 people and every seat in the house gives an excellent view of the performances. which according to the owner, Mrs. Robert (Jill) Stover, is prefered by the audience. The playhouse is a non-profit organization within the state and the cast is obtained from nearby states as well as Indiana Rehearsals start in the early morning hour and continue until the evening hours. Performances are given between 7:3oand 11 p.m. on Wednesdays. Thursdays, and Fridays. Earlier in the week practices are held. If there is a sell out on a performance an extra night is added.
