no longer with the school system, have volunteered to assist again this year. Track and cross country coach Jerry Minton is also expected to be on tap. An excellent attraction we hope to repeat this year is high school music instructor David Blackwell and the school’s jazz band, to play for the gathering crowd and to inspire the runners. The Kosciusko County Red Cross under Inez Devenney and her workers will set up a first aid tent in case of any emergency and their volunteer workers will be on hand to provide runners with a cold drink at the end of the race. Others assisting will be Tom Kitch with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Syracuse City Police under Chief Robert Houser, the Civil Defense under director Tom Gilbert and the EMS ambulance will stand by the director Roger Grothaus and his crew at the alert
