Beck, r 1 Syracuse, underwent surgery of his right hip at the Elkhart Hospital on Monday. He entered the hospital on Friday. According to Mrs. Beck, the surgery is a “re-do job,” inasmuch as he had surgery on both hips 18 years ago. IN INTENSIVE CARE Mrs. Evadean Overholser, Milford, is still in the intensive care unit at Goshen Hospital where she was admitted Tuesday evening. March 30. She was transported to the hospital after suffering chest pains at her home. It is hoped she can be moved to Indianapolis for a heart catheterization soon. Annabell Ratz Former Main Annabell (John) Ratz. 59. died Monday. April 5, at Methodist Hospital. Indianapolis. Mrs Ratz and her husband, Robert P. Ratz. owned the Main Channel Marina in 1976 and 1977. They resided at 5316 Whisperwood Drive. Indianapolis, and also had a home at Pier 697. Kale Island, Lake Wawasee She was bom July 25. 1921, in Fort Wayne and was a deaconess in Irvington Presbyterian Church. Indianapolis. She was also a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, East Side Symphony Group and La Sertoma She is survived by her husband. Robert; a daughter, Nancy Ann Boyer; and a son. Dan S. Ratz. Services were held Wednesday. April 7, at 1:30 p m at Shirley Brothers East Chapel, Indianapolis. Harvey Hepler, Sr. Brother Os Milford Woman Harvey Hepler, Sr., 82. 8159 Chestnut Road, Bourbon, brother of Mrs Wilma Yoder, Milford, died at 8:15 a m Wednesday. March 31, in Parkview Hospital: Plymouth, after suffering a heart attack. He was bom in Marshall County on November 15. 1899, to Henry R and Elva (Heckaman> Hepler. On December 24.1920, he married the former Mary Belle Miller, who preceded him in death in October 1951. On November 15, 1952, he married Kathryn (Ganshoro) Bair, who survives. Georgia Hibner Itatis.Of Kosciusko County Mrs. Chauncey (Georgia) Hibner, 83. 707 South Huntington St., Syracuse, died at noon Friday, April 2, in Goshen Hospital. She was born in Kosciusko County on May 23. 1898, to William and Ida Pebus. In 1939 she married Chauncey Hibner. He survives. In addition to her husband, survivors include one daughter. Lois Cochran. Nappanee; seven grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. One son preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 4, at 2 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Home. SR 13S Syracuse. Rev. John Uhl, Nappanee, officiated and burial was in the Syracuse cemetery Franklin Stephens service Marion Owner And Operator Franklin D. Stephens. 47. 201 East Van Buren St., Leesburg, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the Phillips 66 Station in Leesburg at 2:13 p.m. Thursday. April 1. Stephens was owner and operator of the Stephens Shell Service. Leesburg, and had gone to the Phillips 66 Station for parts when he became ill and died. He was boro on October 29. 1934, in Stone. Ky., to Elbert and Mamie (Stephens) Stephens. In 1956 he married Inas Ousley who died in 1968. He had come to the Leesburg area in 1960 from Prestonsburg, Ky. Survivors include his parents. ® ■I- ■« • w -M3 ~ eV I'S mu i ■ HIGH WINDS CAUSE DAMAGE — A construction trailer belonging to Heavy Construction, Inc., Columbia City, was blown over sometime Saturday, April 3, due to the high winds which ripped through the county. The trailer is the construction office for crews working on the rebuilding of the Tippecanoe River Bridge on SR 15. The photo was taken just north of the Uniroyal Plant on SR 15 near Warsaw. (Photo by Duane Pagel) al I CAR ROLLED — Gilbert Rico, 15. r 1 box 216 Milford, was cited for operating a vehicle without a operator’s license after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving and landed upside down in a field. - There were no injuries. The accident occurred .Monday, April 5, around 3:15 p.m. on CR 1150 N across from the Waubee Lake Trailer Court. According to county police, a car in front of Rico began to slide on the icy road and as Rico braked he lost control of his car. The 1972 Ford two-door Grand Torino flipped over and landed in a field owned by Don Wolferman. Damage to the Rico car was set at approximately SI,OOO. Slippery roads causes accident Slippery road conditions and snow caused an accident at US 30 and Center Street access road Tuesday. April 6. at 3:55 p.m. in Warsaw. Involved in the accident was Mary Nickel. 57, r 3 Syracuse. Mrs. Nickel told Warsaw City Police she was attempting to enter US 30 when her auto was hit by a car driven by Bruce Prater. 27. r 3 Warsaw Damage was estimated at under S2OO to both vehicles.
