MAKING TALONS — Larry Pletcher is shown helping some of his fourth grade students dip candles. The candles started as a small wick and the students dipped the candle, let it cool, dipped again and repeated the process until they had a full site candle. Also part of the festivities was a square dance for the children to become acquainted with that custom. (Photo by Sharon Stuckman)

/ ROCK CHURCH PROCLAIMS X “JESUS LIVES” by SARAH M. TUTTLE “I serve a risen Savior, He’s in the world today; I know that He is living no matter what men say.” These words are from the hymn “He Lives” by Alfred H. Ackley. I’m glad that I can sing these words from my heart in an age when so many don’t understand the fullness of what they imply. Praise the Lord — Jesus lives! We at Rock Church do serve a risen Savior that lives today. Not one that rose 2.000 years ago and left us here alone, but one that rose in power and after He’d ascended sent His Spirit and said that we’d do even greater things than He’d done if we believe — John 14.12. Rock Church believes that Jesus can and will do all today by the Holy Spirit that He did 2,000 years ago and we invite you to worship with us a risen living savior — The Jesus who conquered death and who gives life today. “He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.” Rock Church believes He walks and talks with us today. “He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.” The Bible promises us that He’ll never leave us. Rock Church proclaims that Jesus has kept His promise and He hasn’t left us. His Holy Spirit is with us today - He has the answer to our problems if we’ll but seek Him and He’ll give us the power to reach others with the salvation message. His promise of a visible return He’s keeping too and that’s all the more reason to proclaim this to you today — yes — He lives! John 11:25 “Jesus said to her, I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in me although he may die yet he shall live.” Rock Church invites you to worship the Risen Lord and to celebrate His glorious resurrection with us. We are meeting at Turkey Creek Conservation Club, Sun. morn. 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Wed. 7 p.m.
